Quick question - Quick answer

WHEN PEOPLE make games and say for example 'endless nightmare 4, res' what does RES mean?

WHEN PEOPLE make games and say for example 'endless nightmare 4, res' what does RES mean?
It is a dick move where “Res” means reserved. Basically means they are waiting for specific people but they are too lazy to set a password, so they would rather just get mad and command others to leave when they join, if they’re not the specific people they want to join them in their game.

Ahh thank you sir

@Lance Putting "Res" in game's title is much faster and more convenient than having to send the pass to all the players, especially when you don't have their guildcards. I guess that if you gave the password directly to someone in a lobby with other players, they'd be right about joining your game as you'd have given the pass publicly.

Anyway, once you're aware of what it means, it's better not to join reserved parties in order to avoid those lazy mad dicks.

It isn’t more convenient and I don’t agree with your logic. You can say the password in the lobby and the right people would join your game. If the wrong people join, you can ask them to leave.

It really is just lazy.

If you set a password and create the game, it also prevents people who join the lobby, after you create the game, from joining and also prevents people from joining who are in other lobbies checking the game list.

It really is better and less of an ass to just say “join ttf, pass is banana”, as an example.

The logic that res is easier for people you don't have GCs/contact details for etc makes no sense, since you had to communicate with the person anyway to tell them to join your game.

This is the best answer I've seen in this entire topic!

wow, this is totally off topic but came into my mind after reading the posts about res game and yeah i hope its okay to have it posted here:

sometimes it even made me sad, when u been at the counter before the game start and are aware of that in this very moment no other game is up to join and a probably pretty new player joins and ask if the spot is free and the response is res:-( wish i could say:stay its fine, but yeah:/

so ephinea people, be encouraged and open public games, meet new players, new friends and have a good time, even when the game itself might be a struggle^^. every1 was at the point where they get into it,learning about the mechanics etc. thats important for me that this happens and i think that keeps the community alive, playing together and not only with the people u know, having time to help if necessary and welcome (seems not everyone wants to get help xD)

so lets do our best that this good experience ,that ephinea can and is providing, stays alive! no need for dick moves, we need the pso spirit of being an international and hopefully a lil bit about each other caring community! ;-)

I have a quick question, what are the ma4 tickets used for that you get from the Maximum Attack quests?

hi guys

I'm pretty new here and not played pso since I was about 14, good 16 years or so ago.

I remember bits and bats but don't really ever remember struggling to hit certain bosses like de rol le.

Is it because I'm not a high enough level or with this being a personalised server do you have to have specific weapons techs for example to hit them.

I'm a level 25 ranger purplenum.

cheers in advance

Probably a combination of level and gear. This server is about as "vanilla" as it gets, with very few modifications from the original game. Keep an open room and some veterans will probably pop in to help you out, and may even give you some free items. Keep leveling, work on the mag, and you will progress quickly.

Also of big help is that you can trade Photon Drops with other players for rare items - just a few PDs is enough to get some really impactful weapons, check out the Trades section here. For a ranger I recommend the following starting out - get a Frozen Shooter, Spread Needle, Baranz Launcher, Charge Vulcans with 50% hit, all for 1 PD each, and a Ranger Wall from Gallon's Shop. That's a great starter kit that should serve you all the way into Ultimate when you can start hunting upgrades.

Feel free to ask any/all questions you have!

Are you playing by yourself? If so, make sure to make the game in the one person mode, as the enemies will be weaker.

If you play by yourself but don't set the game to one person mode, the monsters will have online stats, which makes them more difficult.

Cheers for replies

Ye been playing by myself and have been put it to one person.

When I hit del rol let it hits it take the ho downs very little but looks like it heals, like slu said probably just a combination of level and gear.

Will take me a while to get use to things again and work out where everything is.

Tried working most things out through the forum but sometimes a lot of pages to scroll through to see if the questions have already been asked.

May be a typical nooby question but haven’t come across gallons shop could I get a quick direction pointer on that.

And is this where you can use photon drops if. Not being used in player trades then ?

Thank you

Yeah, that's the main use for PDs outside of trading. You can buy rare items from Paganini that aren't otherwise obtainable.

PSO World (I should probably put this on the wiki...) said:
1 Photon Drop
AddSlot
Assist Barrier
Recovery Barrier

20 Photon Drops
Magic Water
Parasitic Cell Type D
Berill Photon
Red Barrier
Blue Barrier
Yellow Barrier
Nei's Claw (Replica)
Broom
Flower Cane

50 Photon Drops
Magic Rock "Heart Key"
Blue-Black Stone
Photon Booster

99 Photon Drops
Photon Sphere

Also, if you play East and West Tower and talk to Hopkins before you go to Ragol in those quests, you can unlock the ability to add specials to S-Rank weapons that you get in Challenge Mode, and add percents to non-Hit areas of any weapon.
