Episode 1/4 Drop Rework

If this passes, I for one would like to see some of the duplicate items dropped in the same area on the same ID swapped out for something else.
This was one of the big things done in the Episode 2 revamp, so I'm sure something like it would be included this time.

I appreciate you doing an update like this to let us know of changes. I think its's not a bad idea since you are not changing anything too rare and its for a limited time.

The drop table change is going to be permanent? What is for a limited time?
When I was reading about all the God units, I had to think of god/technique, that one deserves more enemies which drop it^^

Although I am a little bit hesitant because episode 4 might become kind of obsolete... but ID changes!!

Anyway, I am curious what is going to drop anyhow and I am in favor of changes. I find v101 zu drops kind of icononic though...
 
If you remove V101 and Lame from HQ Dorphon, you probably need to do something to help Viridia in EP4 because that's a double hit and it dropping both was one of the best things the ID had to offer (In Ep4).
 
Voted "no" only for the v101 that is too much of a EP4 iconic drop as already stated, i'm ok with the rest otherwise.
Not like it gonna change anything anyway seing the ratio :p

This is kinda something I suggested before and talked about with community members lightly, which is making smartlink a bit more rare. I personally believe there's a lot of justification in doing so considering its a 100% needed item for most forces and hunters, and with its general over-availability there's still be no problem securing one if someone wanted to buy it. The side problem once again though (if you consider it a problem), is that smartlink's a drop in both black paper quests...sooo. :rolleyes: That quests so problematic.
 
I'm slightly concerned about what this might mean for Forces. With less people playing EP4, FOs will be almost entirely relegated to a support role. More EP1 is fine and all for HU and RA but the resist in EP1/2 just sucks. Is there any possibility you would consider lowering it a little, to make FO more viable for a post EP4 meta?
 
Most forces are perfectly capable of being relevant in melee and supporting projectiles, especially in episode 2. It's just a slight playstyle change. Even Fonewearl for all her vanilla faults is pretty useful with demons, she just wont be outputting lots of outright damage.
 
Seems like that would be fine for melee ish FOs like FOmar and more supportive FOs like FOmarl.

But I picked FOnewm specifically to do tech damage, and playing as a weaker kind of hunter with terrible melee stats is not a playstyle I personally would have chosen. If you enjoy that good for you but I don't want all forces to play the same.

edit: Didn't mean this post to sound so hostile. Difficult to find another way to word it. I just have a problem that you're saying my objection isn't valid at all because I can just adopt the new playstyle. My point is that is does change the game in a negative way by reducing the diversity of playstyles.

Going by just the examples given, EP4 will still be the only home of Slicer of Fanatic, Heaven Striker, V801, Limiter, Shouren (although Guren drops in Spaceship), Cannon Rouge, Cent/Abillity, Dragon Scale, Liberta Kit, BOVN, Clio, and probably some other potentially endgame, generally useful, or best in slot items I'm forgetting. EP4 will not exactly become weak.

But also, FOs destroy EP1 solomode for the most part. They're also better than you would think in the majority of EP2 solomode as well.
 
My contention was really about EP4 falling out of favour in group play and being forced to play support only almost every group.

By the way, I voted yes for the rework. I just wanted to raise this issue because it hasn't been mentioned at all.

Right, and the point of my post was that EP4 will still have really good drops. People won't exactly stop hunting those other EP4 exclusives because some Heavenly units, V101, Lore, and one Lame drop were removed from Episode 4.
 
Most of the good drops remaining will be on PoD, there will be no point to playing the other quests. V801, whilst being a great unit is basically worthless compared to V101. Also, if forces become less influential, you can expect the demand for it to be even lower than it is now.

Move the Heavenly units and maybe some of the weapons. I think V101 should stay where it is. As mentioned earlier in this thread, God units shouldn't be in Ult, they should be in Vhard.

For the record, I support all drop reshuffling and I definitely support this one. I think it's healthy for the game and gives us a chance to farm different quests and see different drop pools. That said, V101 is a staple of EP4 runs and losing it will reduce EP4 play, impacting Forces in a negative way. Fixing tech damage or leaving V101 are just two of the available options to prevent this.

I am hugely in favour of this.

Also, Forces can be fantastic in Episode 1 and 2 so I don't see any problem about nerfing Episode 4 a little. Okay, FOney struggles a little in a few areas, but she can still do fine. I basically only play Forces and I enjoy all episodes.

Concerning V101: I also consider the Zu drop being very iconic, but V801 and Adept staying in Episode 4 makes sense since it is arguably the most "tech-use-heavy" episode.

If Lame is added to EP1, can we have a Pwand drop in EP4? Fits with the EP4 tech theme.

There is one problem this could create though... people using old printed drop charts(or drop info from other sites) might get confused (might be me). For instance if they use an old drop chart, they might wonder why something isn't dropping. Of course if they use the drop charts from this site, like they should, all will be good. It's not a complaint, I voted yes, it's just a thought.
 
As someone who is usually against any sort of changes (see: all past changes lol), I actually support this one. Ep1 is so fun to play, yet the drops are so abysmal that when people ask what ID the quest should be, the answer is generally "I don't care". With the exception of R1 and that's not even for rares lol. My only reservation is the v101 drop which like others, I find to be quite iconic. But if that's a necessary evil, so be it. Virid dorph lame is a cool move into ep! I also support these drops being moved into double drops like dragon slayer. One last request - please don't put great items in forest without giving us a super grindy quest to make it less terrible. Running TE is so boring lol
 
I'm generally for anything that gives the game a fresh feel. Yes from Mia.

Also, there are a number of items that could be distributed (like Last Swan, Master Raven) to EPI charts. I know this stuff was discussed back in the Sega server days, but of course Sonic team never got around to it. Imagine that?

I like the idea of v101 in mines

I would suggest putting viridia lame on delsabers, since I don't think it should drop in forest or caves, or any enemy that appears in TTF/ma4c since hunting it at the same time as RR wouldn't be fair.

I don't think it really matters where heavenly units and smartlink drop lol
