Introducing PSO Seasons on Ephinea

Since this has been a somewhat requested feature for the server, we would like to announce the introduction of PSO Seasons on Ephinea!

What exactly are PSO Seasons, you may ask? Well, basically, it's where players start new seasonal characters, which are restricted in various ways, to see just how far they can take them before the season ends.

The main restrictions when creating and playing a seasonal character are:

- No access to a shared character bank.
- No access to a PSO "team".
- Restricted to playing with seasonal characters and in seasonal games only.
- Certain quests may also be unavailable to seasonal characters until certain milestones are reached on the character.

There may be other restrictions, but those are the main ones at the moment. (We are still figuring things out before launch.)

Seasonal characters will also participate on an entirely different leader board and those with the top rankings in certain categories will receive prizes at the end of the season. There may be other achievements that reward certain things for seasonal characters that accomplish said achievements. (So that everyone can earn something from playing seasonal characters.)

Also, at the end of the season, your seasonal characters will convert to a normal character of whatever account type the character was made on.

The official start date of the first Ephinea PSO season will be January 12th, 2018 and last until April 12th, 2018. Please look forward to it!

Wow a reason for me to actually come back and play. :) Not saying that I already don't have a reason to play, there's plenty. But this looks like a lot of fun! Very excited.

In regards to this, how do we go about setting up the character to be a seasonal one, will an option appear in the character creation around this time? Or will this be told to us later? I think I will give this a go. Always nice to do things fresh.

Will first try modding the client to make an option at creation. Failing that an option after you get to ship select or when appearing in the lobby the first time.

Doubt they need to be very big. People do this all year in Diablo 3 just for cosmetics. Some people just like the thrill of starting over with everyone having nothing and competing... it isn’t for everyone but you will be surprised at how many people will be interested with little convincing needed. Still, there will be decent rewards, just don’t expect J swords for all.

1 pd for participation as a general reward?

I for one would love just a single pd for trying this out at least.

Diablo 3 also has 57843579457943x the number of players as this game.
I have no doubt people are interested in such a feature, but I think our playerbase is too low to reasonably support it.
 
Great idea! At the conclusion of the season, is the seasonal character simply converted to a new regular account, or can it be transferred to the player's already existing account? (Assuming they have at least one of their 32 character slots open?)

Edit: It never ceases to amaze me the ideas that you guys come up with to keep the game exciting and fresh.

Edit 2: Please make the seasonal characters have green-colored names! (This would be a nice nod to D3's green seasonal logo!)
