Summer Scavenger Event

I don't think so. Alot of people liked the idea of the event.
I really liked the idea of the event. However I agree with Matt that it was poorly executed- too much effort and too many restrictions for not enough reward.

Truthfully, if I had know at the start of the event what I know now I wouldn't have bothered at all and just hunted other things =)

"Relatively well received" was probably the wrong way to put it, rather people loved the idea of the event for the most part (you and your friends not liking it is not most people) but it was handled poorly so people got demotivated/demoralized later on because they felt they weren't getting anything out of it and ultimately ended up not liking it, which is understandable, I have done it pretty badly. =P

Anyway, we're at the two week mark so here's the remaining badges:

Whitill is here, there and everywhere, while Skyly probably has a group for this.

Whitill sounds like it could be a goran (or pyro goran, or goran detonator), because they warp all over the place. Just an idea.

I have been doing desert runs/quests with my Whitill though and didn't find anything. But that doesn't mean anything though... XD

Edit : "probably has a group for this." Couldn't that relate to a support group? There are support groups for pretty much anything nowadays. Once again, just an idea...

I don't think you can really win with events that don't dovetail with hunts - either they're going to be too weak for most people to drop their current hunts for, or they're going to be so op that people will feel like they can't do anything else and will complain. Concept was still cool though, and I like the suggested changes for next year

I saw this coming like 10 pages ago. I suggested you guys add a banner for these drops. The leecher disposition and fighting greed with greed is precisely why these kinds of things don't work without some moderation, sad as that may be.

I actually thought "lying about finding badges" would be one of the design quirks of this event (and entirely intentional). But then some dumbass had to go and try to troll a fucking GM, which was uh.... Not a good idea.

and events are also to get people doing something different to the normal grind.

One issue with this is that "normal grind" is different for everyone. For me, "normal grind" is Lost Chaos Calibur, MU5 oran gibbles, and PoD. MA4 is actually outside my normal grind*. So I look at the excluded quest list, and all the "fun" quests that I don't normally play are blacklisted. But I'm probably an outlier idk lol.

(Note*: I do grind MA4 Mil Lilies sometimes too, but that's not a "all the enemies with all the drops" MA4 grind)

I agree with Goran. But sinow zele/zoa dissappear and warp here and there too. So could be. I've done both mu4 e2 and mu3 e4 several times and no luck over yesterday/today.

I wasn't trolling anyone, was just trying to figure out where the pink badge was so everyone else on the server could benefit.

I like the ideas Matt, and look forward to them next year. We need a balance between the voice that loves an event and the one that hates it. That's how we, hopefully, improve over time. Let's not confuse that particular aspect with drama.

I liked the concept of this event but not the execution. I've never been a fan of restricting users on what they can play just for the sake of doing something different.

The reward quest is now up, you can find it in Episode 2 Shop.

Although you'll be hardpressed to buy much without the Whitill Badge!

I like this event. I really like that the team is coming up with new stuff while keeping the feel of the the original game. I wish the lowbies could participate though. We've had a lot of new people join lately.

Whitill badge confirmed seabed. Buddy just found it. We were doing free-roam. He was unsure what dropped but we think it was zoa 90% sure, morfos was also possible.

Which leaves skyly in sub des somewhere.

Enemy count according to Wilhuf's sheet:
(Goran/Pyro/Deto/Merissa/Girta)

MU3: 108/55/16/0/0
MU4: 46/40/3/24/1
MU5: 37/30/7/25/4

WoL3: 87/26/4/0/0
WoL4: 37/36/16/28/3
WoL5: 49/19/7/11/4

... for people to optimize hunts. Keep in mind splitting required in some quests may reduce efficiency due to PSO2 drop radius. You might also want to confirm the counts are correct as you do them.

Skyly is Girta i'd bet my ass on this =D

Yo, loving this event even with my lackluster amount of badges. Nice to not always be in the main quests. I just came back from an extended break and probably wont get much time to play again anyways...

Just so people know, since everyone is complaining about how dumb pinkal is on Gulgus-gue that you can find 10 or so really fast on the quest Rappy Holiday (Used to love this back in the day). You just need to go straight to and play the chicken race, get S/SS rank and then kill the enemies in forest 1 (ignoring everything else). The bit where you get the rejowda flower. There is like 10 or so Gulgus-Gue there. Takes a few mins and can repeat eeeeeeasy. Still no luck on finding one though for me :(

It's probably obvious by now but the Skyly Badge is on Merissa AA -- it's been found by somebody.

I've also relaxed all the rates since the hunt is over and I somewhat overestimated some of the rates anyway. The rates are as follows (they were a lot harder, I had the brightspark idea of making them similar to permanent rates, go me):

Viridia: 1/417
Greenill: 1/155
Skyly: 1/4
Bluefull: 1/213
Purplenum: 1/16
Pinkal: 1/700
Redria: 1/910
Oran: 1/100
Yellowboze: 1/538
Whitill: 1/341

Remember that getting all, or just a collection, rewards you with a Photon Sphere or Photon Drops respectively. o: Now is a decent time to get some wealth if you're lacking it.
