Quite entertaining. *noms popcorn*

Srsly tho I may have overreacted a bit.

To be honest, I think the admins are really trying to keep the game as balanced as it possible can be. That you can change your SID atm whenever you want is a very big thing and should not be taken lightly. If they say this is the time limit I have the fullest confidence that they have made the right consideration. I may not agree with all the things they implement or remove but they are doing a hell of a better job than sega did back then and whatever they do, I am down with it. Ffs, it is free to play!

I agree with you in concept, though I can somewhat understand where skylar is coming from. The blind trust that you're describing is a part of what led to what happened in Schthack. I don't think this is the same scenario at all and give full props to the awesome job done by the people in charge here, but community discussions and even complaints are healthy for the server as a whole.

Also, while it is monetarily free to play, people do pour a LOT of time into this game. So I can understand emotions running high when something like 1/3 of the ultimate drop rates change.

Nobody has been reduced in any way by this. If a lot of time has been invested, the player has already benefited from this time in the form of already-acquired items and levels.

Consider the following:

1. You keep everything you found up to this point.
2. You can carefully study the charts and change your IDs to whatever you want.
3. Some people with high level characters may have already achieved most of their goals on their current Section IDs, and this is an opportunity to "jump ship" to a new ID even for Ep. 1 and Ep. 2 considerations. It's basically like getting a brand new character with a new ID to a high level with materials / Mag / gear without any of the work.

My Yellowboze RAcast achieved most of his goals, so I switched him over to Purplenum. I can still hunt my ever elusive hit Froozer, but now I can hunt HS on Ep. 4, Heaven Punisher on Ep. 2 (I would only do that for fun), and P-Wand on Ep. 1.

Changes present just as many (or more) opportunities as they do challenges.

Well, I would say OPTIMISM, not opportunism. Everyone has a fair chance to do this :p
Well, those who completed their current section ID's hunts at least. I'm probably jumping to bluefull at the end just so I can hunt my white whale in the heaven punisher.

As I have said, I may not agree with everything they do and blind trust goes a bit too far. Mostly, I know where the admins are coming from and discussion is indeed a good thing. However, some emotions from people go a bit over the top. They get angry and frustrated without hearing out the reasons why they have changed certain aspects of the game and center their own emotions like there is nothing else in the world. I do not like the drops of the heaven striker right now as well (I was hunting that thing and it is way harder to get with my knowledge than a lame or whatever) but what can I do? Just play the game and move on. Overall, I think the dropcharts have improved tbh and that is mostly what matters.

Matt, may I recommend being very vocal about when the time will expire to change IDs? (announcement, sticky thread/whatever) otherwise I can forsee a lot of upset players who didn't know the exact point of the deadline.

That was the plan once the time is coming up (like 3~ or so days beforehand with reminders ingame).

Okay, one final change:
  • Greenill Zu: Smartlink → V101 (1/1280)
  • Greenill Pazuzu: V101 → Rianov 303SNR-5 (1/3.2)
  • Greenill Del Rappy: H/Power → H/Body
  • Purplenum Zu: Siren Glass Hammer → Smartlink (1/930 (this was an accident, I'll fix it later))
  • Purplenum Del Rappy: H/Body → H/Mind
Pazuzu V101 felt too overpowered as many parties were constantly getting double drops, so we decided to move it back up to Zu (which feels more iconic anyway). Moved the Smartlink to Purplenum so SGH is a Bluefull exclusive now, and gave Purplenum's Del a better unit.

I'll fix that Smartlink whenever.

I don't know if Pazuzu V101 was overpowered based on odds, just that the nature of rare enemy drops have spikes in drops when one does show up. Zu does feel like the more iconic drop though. Pazuzu would also definitely be overpowered on V101 drops whenever double rare monsters events are up.

I'm also really liking the del rappies dropping units that'll be extremely helpful to newer players who maybe can't handle ep 4 normally on their own yet, but stuff that eventually falls off for max level players. (Well, at least those that don't get H/Body lol)

it would be nice a little extension for users who perhaps are inactive for a while ...

When the two-week period is up, it's my understanding that everyone gets ONE more Section ID change that does not expire, but that's the last one, right? That is more than fair.

Can someone correct this if I'm wrong?

My only complaint is that Heaven Striker doesn't drop from a rare enemy for an ID, but Lame does.

Perhaps Marissa aa would be a good one since it does not drop a weapon that good yet

I agree that that would be fair (and Sodaboy confirmed this interpretation, so that’s good), but it was previously stated that the final Section ID change will also have a time limit of 2 weeks, which was what the discussion was about.

It'll be sometime on the 26th on June, and after that, players will have 2 weeks to decide what their final ID will be. After those 2 weeks, SID changing will be locked to under 20s only once again.

(because of abuse reasons)

There's been discussion about the subject some time after that post, I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen, so Sodaboy will have to fill you in on that.
