Classic mode currently features the class walls as obtainable items from Gallon's Shop, as they were available on Blue Burst.

However, many people may consider these to be "Episode IV items" (although they did exist in Version 1/2, just not Gamecube/Xbox), and we do advertise Devaloka as being a ship without Episode IV items.

Devaloka isn't a ship that is designed to replicate GC/Xbox exactly, but we'd like to ask the community if they think these walls should be obtainable on Devaloka.

Gallon's Shop is currently disabled on the ship until this poll finishes in 3 days, or prior if there is a clear consensus.

So, should they be available on Devaloka?

Honestly the fact that the Walls are free to obtain super-duper fast, no grind, no nothing, is what I find the most ridiculous about them. Nevermind the fact that the wiki entry for Ranger Wall basically admits to it being the Best in Slot before Red Ring (which isn't on Classic either).

I believe ST added the walls prior to EPIV (IIRC just there out of the box for BB), but yeah, not in Gamecube/Xbox. Voted no for S parts supremacy

I tried looking around POSW and after about 3000 suspicious connection blocked warnings, the most anyone mentioned was when Gallon had a Valentine update on JP.

Indifferent. I can live without them, and it forces me to actually build for different situations rather than it be such a powerful end-game shield gotten so easy. On the other hand, I will miss the easiness.

unironically best decision made on this server
Nope.

I would have tried Classic if:

1. I could use Ranger Wall on RAcast. (I’m not going to hunt for SParts because I don’t hate myself.)

2. I could migrate a Classic character to Ep. 4 once I’ve had my fill (obviously with no option to go back); this way my time in Classic wouldn’t feel like a counterproductive waste of time.

The arbitrary, self-punishing mechanics sought by the Classic community (TTF was on DC and GC/XB, you fools!) did nothing but alienate people who don’t want to deal with frustrating bullcrap. Bravo.

they have a server for you

Yep. And if we're considering overall account stats, I may have the highest enemies killed and EXP total of any player on the normal server at this point. So obviously I'm aware of this, and the sarcastic answer wasn't needed.

It's this exact attitude and the unwillingness to address the question of, "Why doesn't anyone want to play Classic?" That keeps people away.

Maybe that's how you guys want it. I don't know.

have you considered that maybe people like devaloka's balance? and thats why they play here? it's ok if you dont wanna play classic, but dont act like we are gatekeeping assholes just because the server wont bend to your will.

That's fair. I know you're a good guy :3

Classic is CLOSE to something I would want to play, but being forced to hunt SParts for passable ATA or not being able to migrate a Classic character to Main are both dealbreakers for me, and it's sad.

PSO Main is still a very slow grind for progression in terms of "finishing" your characters. So if the Classic version is designed for the most "masochistic" subset of that already masochistic crowd, it's going to be a VERY slow grind, maybe too slow for most.

Oh well.

So aside from the self-credentialling that you seem to like to do to try to justify your opinion (which you dont need to do btw) in your earlier posts, this kind of bothers me the most I think.

PSO in the main state is not slow whatsoever. It is the fastest and most efficient variant of Blue Burst I've ever seen and unless your goals are to get triple 100%'s in every item, you can "finish" a character pretty damn easily.

Classic isn't meant for masochistic people, it's meant for people that enjoy a more Ver.3 take on the game, which a lot of view to be the best version of the game, without having to invest in Emulators and original hardware in some cases. It is the most readily available iteration of the game version we feel is most balanced to both fun factor and reward factor. And yes we're aware that the idea of a slower game isn't going to be for everybody, we aren't trying to market it towards everyone, we're marketing it towards those that like Ver.3, which is in essence what its for. You're thinking too hard and making up too many reasons why we like it. It's literally that simple.

So you can stop with the name calling and exaggerated implications already. It's not working. On Classic the people got to vote what they wanted for and they got it; no different than being able to vote on a change in main. The only difference is that the thing we voted for was a technical negative to player power, which you obviously don't like. You don't have to like it, you don't even play it (which begs the question as to why you're even in this topic talking about changes to a sub-type game mode you've never stepped foot in because you're too scared of playing without an ATA boosting shield) and I find your self credentialling to be telling.

Classic is the best where it is at now without walls. You have most hours played on Blue Burst, well I can tell you that I have well over 35,000 Hours invested in Ver.3 which is far more than you so I can tell you for certainty that you're wrong and I'm right. (See how dumb that sounds?)

Those are all excellent points.

I can't quite articulate where my disdain for Classic comes from beyond personal stuff (ie. it's caused many of my friends I play with to split their time), but because that is selfish, I'm going to assume it is coming from an irrational place and discontinue fighting about it.

(As an aside, I do consider a "finished" character to possess a full loadout with top tier hit % and fully sphered where applicable, so PSO Main is still a slow grind to me.)

Good to share opinions, why bash ade for sharing. I enjoy seeing people's reasoning on why they play certain modes/quest ect. He also never called anyone names or belittled anyone. Open convo is good and should be encouraged with out making people afraid to share. Check yourself! Be proud of your accomplishments. Saying it once in a thread is fine. It is not gloating/bragging just gives perspective! P.s I don't play classic but would if added a option to make a change to normal mode. Definitely possible as seasons and hardcore players were brought to normal mode. Personally would be excited then devastated if I found a 100 hit Uber that was stuck on classic....

ade was being very condescending.

also i feel like if you're afraid of finding something good on devaloka because you wont be able to use it on fodra, you shouldnt play devaloka. if you care more about your wealth and gear on fodra rather than playing and enjoying devaloka, you should just play fodra.
