It does stand for Altered Beast. Can't say for sure if it's a throwback, but it probably is, given PSO is full of references to older Sega games.

So, long story short, friend and I decided we were going to hunt for these. We figured ~30 runs of War of Limits 2 would do it. About three minutes into the first run:

Picked up something like 7-8 mats as well. Best run I've ever had.

I don't think this is max, you still have Deband up and the pic is reading 244 DFP (max is 235). Is this not 191 DFP before Deband (assuming 15)? If it's Deband 20, it's 181 DFP, if it's Deband 30, it's 165 DFP.
