Blacked out images in bmp folder!?

My /EphineaPSO/bmp folder has every screenshot I've taken since I started but they're all just solid black when I see them as thumbnails and no matter what I try to open them with. Anyone have a clue why this would be happening?

Play around with resolution settings. You may need to set pso to a smaller resolution. My 2¢.

That's a really good suggestion!
I'll try that and get back as to weather or not it worked in a few hours - I did change those a little bit..

What are you taking pictures with?

I didn't know there was any other way to take pictures than with the "Prt Scr/SysRq" button (next to "Scroll Lock")
Edit: It's apparently able to take screen shots in full screen mode...still tinkering..
Edit2: I tried changing every single option in both the default game options and the Ephinea launcher options for the graphics and the only thing that fixes it is playing in fullscreen mode but I like to be able to access my internet browser while playing without having to alt tab.
My video card is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti and my resolution is 1680x1050 (16:10)

Whenever I have this problem (not exclusive to PSO) it's usually because of an overlay or something applying post-processing.

If you de-select ''calssic full-screen'' while making sure windowed is also not selected you can load the ephinea made full-screen, which allows you to alt tab. It is also widescreen which is sexy af. You can also press ''high res hud'' for the HUD to be smaller and give your more screen space/room (looks much sexier).

The reason I asked what you use was because you can get many programs for screen capture. Within PSO itself (no extra software) printscreen is the only option. If your trying to take photos in windowed, is the PSO window the main window when you take the snap (on top of everything else)? Do you run PSO as administrator?

Edit: I remenber people talking about having the same issue though I am unsure what resolved it (if they did). This thread is from a long time ago: https://www.pioneer2.net/community/threads/darkoid.2373/#post-23769 , where @Darkoid @Kyu777 had the same issues.

I use the Ephinea made full-screen. (very much so more sexy)
I use high res hud.
Yes, it is the top window. (I'm obsessive compulsive about always making sure by clicking it)
Yes, all executables in the main pso directory are set to "run as administrator".
I just read that thread and the closest fix was to copy and paste into powerpoint but I think alt tabbing isn't so bad, it's functional enough.

I guess if this is still a cold-case and there's nothing that makes me special compared to Darkoid then I'm cool with alt tabbing.
Thanks a lot for responding, everyone, anyway!

When I use 1366x768, the images cannot be displayed in the thumbnail and windows' photo viewer can't open them.
Opening them in GIMP come out like this (pic below)

I know Soda uses his own screenshot function, so I don't know if it would get affected by this but kinda seems to be the same

This thing is the burst screen to the ship selection...

If nothing works a re-install+update might sort it out. maybe..

I realized the Ephinea fullscreen doesn't allow for screenshots either, just the sega one...all good though, at least there IS A way to do it. Thanks all, I guess this can be closed.
