It will be I think 15 years ago this summer when we used to hang out on schthack, where I played an all white long haired HUney named Seraphina with an FTD, and my GF at the time Aurora.
I would have definitely been here 11 years ago if someone brought me here then.

It was around 10 years ago mew had actually took the time to register and log onto Schtserv looking for lost loved ones. The MOMENT mew spawned into lobby, someone was already arguing wiff another about the "Dragon Needle"...and minutes after that, Miureth-chan had approached mew and asked if she could become a GM? Mew had run off, never to return after that....Even if she Wanted to return to look for lost loved ones to coax into coming to Ephinea wiff her, she couldn't after the next few WIPES after that... ='(

I don't think I said anything to imply you were taking money for yourself. Rather that money can go to more than paying for compute cycles and bandwidth. (Assuming the server has the funds to survive aside from that.)

I'm also sure there are people with the knowledge in this community that can help volunteer.

All of the donation money goes to pay for the server. All excess money (based on the monthly + yearly costs) is put towards future payments. We're never going to pay anyone for working on this server.

The work isn't necessarily difficult for us (for most things, some dev tasks are actually incredibly difficult for various reasons). Of course, this is based on my own experience. I have been doing this for ~5 years now, and I already had a few years of random reverse engineering the client to make a number of addons before I was staff here.

The real problem is the time investment. For the bank stuff, I'm like 99% sure the changes are fine. I have tested every code change already, but I've also been very burnt out on PSOBB for 3+ years now. The game stopped being fun for me, and testing all the edge cases takes hours just to avoid any surprises. Especially since a bug here would probably corrupt a character or bank.

So help isn't really needed. But even if help was needed, there are some problems.

The person needs to be someone we trust. There are many unique features here, and we don't want to risk someone just stealing them. Other servers are similar with their content and features.

The person needs to be familiar with Teth and the client. A lot of the server behavior is reverse engineered from the client, and a lot of the custom features depend on both sides. Additionally, Soda and myself are the ones who would need to wake up at 3 or 4am to update and restart the server if a change broke something.

An update post in this thread have resolved that concern.

Yeah, no argument here. I had hoped to finish my changes earlier, but I haven't had enough free time to go through everything to the degree I usually do. The updates to the ships are just changes to the lists of rewards for the gambles.

Does this guy realize that this is a server for a game that died off officially 20 years ago and to be playing at all is a blessing?
Grow up dude. Staff doesn't owe you any explanation nor do they have a responsibility to keep a timeline steady for events/structure updates. Be grateful there's even a server this dedicated at all.

Mew can still remember vividly the Server/Community wide PANIC when "Donations" were mentioned and triggered a lot of open wounds from previous servers we won't mention...Most of us were Snookered and Abused, Some of our less savory tribe members wrung their paws dreaming of 'Donation items' for RMTs, Others outrite QUIT and jumped ship screaming "Oh HELL NO!"...only to return like..."Oh,....Noice~....!". Despite it all, Soda-Samas had asked us 'If we wanted to get Paid wiff the monies'... We UNANIMOUSLY said "No!". =')

Take whatever time or precautions you need, luv! The last time Some 'Dev' decided to do a Rush job, mew's Panzer Tail said it was a "Pofuilly Slime"! Then after they "Fixed it"..her mag said it was an "Evil Shark"?! X'D! So yeah, giggles all around...Blech! Measure twice....cut ONCE! Take your time! Just know Whatever time you take away from YOUR IRL life to sit down and grind hours upon hours tweaking, cursing, and tick tacking away every line of code has a silent CHEER from the grateful masses! Hell, we even Peaked at like 800 ppl online during our Summer/Anniv Event! That's 800 Players Worldwide that logged on and after looking around at the Work YOU and the other Devout server gods had slaved over had thought "Daaaaaayum, this is Nice! I need to get my friends here!". So we worry when you mention feeling burned out...We Cheer when you succeed, we groan when/if you fail, but we always come Back! WHY???? Because we APPRECIATE YOU and your efforts~! (Yes, you too Soda-Samas! We see you lurking back there~! <3!)

OK, Wiff all that cheerleading and forehead kissing crap out of the way, mew can take a few moar days of randos asking her "WHERE's the Egg shop???" Mitigating circumstances be damned...we can Wait, luv! <3!

I don't care if there are any delays for any kind of content, I can only just be super grateful that there is a home for us old PSO players to continue playing PSO.

Thank you so much to any and all staff members of this server to make this all possible, I absolutely appreciate you through any kinds of ups and downs!

Also as an additional 2 cents, I have donated to this server (not much, but still) and honestly it doesn't matter to me where that money goes as long as it benefits this server in some form or another.
