It will be I think 15 years ago this summer when we used to hang out on schthack, where I played an all white long haired HUney named Seraphina with an FTD, and my GF at the time Aurora.

It was around 10 years ago mew had actually took the time to register and log onto Schtserv looking for lost loved ones. The MOMENT mew spawned into lobby, someone was already arguing wiff another about the "Dragon Needle"...and minutes after that, Miureth-chan had approached mew and asked if she could become a GM? Mew had run off, never to return after that....Even if she Wanted to return to look for lost loved ones to coax into coming to Ephinea wiff her, she couldn't after the next few WIPES after that... ='(

I mean to say, you could probably pay someone to do some of this work so that it isn't just the two of you handling the backend code.
I don't think I said anything to imply you were taking money for yourself. Rather that money can go to more than paying for compute cycles and bandwidth. (Assuming the server has the funds to survive aside from that.)

I'm also sure there are people with the knowledge in this community that can help volunteer.

All of the donation money goes to pay for the server. All excess money (based on the monthly + yearly costs) is put towards future payments. We're never going to pay anyone for working on this server.

The work isn't necessarily difficult for us (for most things, some dev tasks are actually incredibly difficult for various reasons). Of course, this is based on my own experience. I have been doing this for ~5 years now, and I already had a few years of random reverse engineering the client to make a number of addons before I was staff here.

The real problem is the time investment. For the bank stuff, I'm like 99% sure the changes are fine. I have tested every code change already, but I've also been very burnt out on PSOBB for 3+ years now. The game stopped being fun for me, and testing all the edge cases takes hours just to avoid any surprises. Especially since a bug here would probably corrupt a character or bank.

So help isn't really needed. But even if help was needed, there are some problems.

The person needs to be someone we trust. There are many unique features here, and we don't want to risk someone just stealing them. Other servers are similar with their content and features.

The person needs to be familiar with Teth and the client. A lot of the server behavior is reverse engineered from the client, and a lot of the custom features depend on both sides. Additionally, Soda and myself are the ones who would need to wake up at 3 or 4am to update and restart the server if a change broke something.

It's not so much about impatience. Rather given a timeline and thus an expectation creates a promise to the community.

I don't actually care that its coming a little later that expected or planned, that's not important. It's that people are kind of left hanging wondering why that is. It sows concern that something might be happening. If there is an explanation as simple as "there is some anti-cheat stuff we need to do, sorry but it'll take another week or two". An update post in this thread have resolved that concern.

I'm not asking for an update of what you guys are doing every hour on the hour, but not 1 post a week after?

Yeah, no argument here. I had hoped to finish my changes earlier, but I haven't had enough free time to go through everything to the degree I usually do. The updates to the ships are just changes to the lists of rewards for the gambles.
