For a while on Ephinea, we've allowed the usage of third-party tools for markedly positive quality of life improvements. These include things such as the ability to check the drops on the floor without having to look at everything individually, as well as having a better chat log on screen.

However, recently, people have created tools which allow them to have a significant advantage over other users, and people being banned for the usage of these tools has had some users questioning what is and isn't allowed.

    Simply put:

Any third party tool which gives the user a significant advantage over other users playing legitimately is grounds for an immediate permanent ban, as this strays into the realm of cheating. Any tool that also allows the player to view details about another player that they're not supposed to is also not allowed.

It does not matter what the tool actually does, whether it's simply pulling information or actively editing the game.

    For example:

    Allowed
    • Floor Item Reader
    • Chat Log Addon
    • Buff/Debuff Reader
    • Monster HP Reader
    Disallowed
    • Rare Monster Reader
    • Other Players' Inventory Reader
This list is not exhaustive (for both categories), and you may be banned for any tool not listed here without warning if the staff deem it to be a significant gameplay advantage. We do not do technicalities; use your common sense.

Any bans before this post for the usage of third-party tools will also not be lifted.

If you have any questions, please message a member of staff.

Thanks for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy playing on Ephinea.
