Quick question - Quick answer

Is it possible to reduce the audio volume of the main screen (i.e., the menu after starting the game from the launcher, and before connecting) without affecting the ingame sound?
 
I'm very new to this, having only played offline back on dreamcast forever ago. I read that running a VR mission is a quick way to level, and that you can make a party for this. What level should I be before I advertise this? What should I name the lobby? And what are lobbies that run this normally named?
