Questions about "explorer" achievements

So my brother and I started playing PSO again on Ephinea because we thought the idea of achievements was interesting.

Concerning the "Explorer" achievements, what exactly are the "survey" quests? Also, can the achievements be completed on lower difficulties?

We're pretty casual players, but we do want to accrue some achievement points before the season ends. The "explorer" ones give a lot of points. We just don't know if they're worth pursuing or not, especially since we're no where near ultimate yet and probably won't reach it any time soon

each survey quest needed is shown in the description of the achievement (including the fact that it needs to be done on Ultimate).

Oh, I get it now, it's referring to the "Survey" achievements. We were confused because we thought there were "Survey" quests that we just didn't see. Thanks for the help!
