help! my friend has been banned!

So i was playing with my friend a few days back and out of curiosity he decided to see if his trainer would work here. it didn't so he didn't bother with it anymore. eventually later on, he ended up getting ip banned :C

seeing as he wasn't planning on actually using it i was wondering if there was a way he can get unbanned if he apologizes or something?
 
I doubt it. People get banned for a reason.
 
that is true, but i figured it wouldn't hurt to at least try instead of giving up lol
 
why would you have a trainer if you aren't going to use it

if somebody has it around there's no way they're only going to use it once "just to see if it works"

that's like falling for somebody saying "just the tip"
 
Rofl, the only way the server has to detect you cheating is to catch you while you're doing it (aka server side checks). Therefore, whatever your friend has told you, it was most likely working and he got banned because of it.
 
It didn't actually work because he edited the client memory to have extra meseta, but the server obviously knew that wasn't the case.

Almost everything is detectable with a little work server-side, also, although a bunch of things will always work since you'd have to edit the client to stop them somehow (but they'll be picked up).
 
i see.. well those are appropriate reasons to argue with there. seeing as you guys don't know me or him cause we showed up out of nowhere, i can't complain.

that aside, how long will the ban hold for? is it permanent or temporary?

we understand what he did was wrong and he regrets it. it's only very recent we found this cool server and it would be a shame if after only a couple of days we can't play together on it. So i'm just trying to find a friendly way we can resolve this issue that results in being able to continue playing with my friend here on this server.

maybe let him off with a warning or something?
