Concerns about amount of weapons on Pioneer 1

In PSO's backstory, it is explained that Pioneer 1 is the reason why there are so many weapons on Ragol. However, it's never explained WHY they so many weapons on board in the first place.

What the fuck where they going to do; go on a genocidal rampage against the peaceful Boomas and Hildebears for the fun of it with ridiculously powerful weapons? Start a civil war for funsies after Pioneer 2 came down? Was there some sort of protocol that had every house had to have a panel of glass that said "In case of evil alien or demon invasion, break glass" with something like a Spread Needle or Lavis Cannon behind the glass? Heck, are the people of Coral just hardcore Second Amendment advocates and believe that everyone should be armed to the teeth, regardless of the situation? At this point, the latter option seems to be the most likely because of how over-the-top PSO's backstory is.

I mean, a 4-man team of Ultimate players with mid to late game equipment has far more firepower than a terrorist cell in Pakistan and a collection of every Ultimate player on a busy night could go toe to toe against a smaller US state's National Guard division and succeed because of all the weapons and techniques they're packing; why did Pioneer 1 need that much firepower? It's just crazy man.

You've got it all wrong. Pioneer 1 didn't have that many weapons; this is just another example of D-cells at work. When the Pioneer 1 soldiers got killed fighting Dark Falz's minions, not only did the D-cells infect and change their bodies as they replicated, but they also infected the soldiers' weaponry. Now Boomas, Evil Sharks, and Dimenians that have been cloned with D-cells have similarly cloned Pioneer 1 weaponry embedded in their flesh, because the D-cells replicated Pioneer 1's armaments, too. That's why when you kill a monster, out pops a shiny weapon. (Machine enemies have weapons embedded in their casing and tangled in their wiring, so when you blow up a robot, you free the cloned weapon from the mess of machinery that's inside of the metal casing.)

Lol is thatyour theory or confirmed canon? I know the D-cells are infecting ragol's animals and the pioneer 1 people but never heard the other stuff.

We will have walls opening up and swallowing us next. Better watch out or the D-Cells gonna get ya!

Also, if there is anything to be learnt about mankind, its that they like guns, wars and bloodshed. I am not suprised the 'exploration' started with a ton of guns onboard. Probably set out into space originally to invade other planets under the false pretense of peace.

It also explains the percentage system: which attribute your weapon is strong against depends upon the relative purity of the D-cells that were used to replicate it. If your weapon was produced by D-cells that came directly from Dark Falz, your weapon will be potent against Dark enemies, but if your weapon was cloned by second generation D-cells that came from De Rol Le, your weapon will be potent against A.Beast enemies.

No, not really. There is no canonical in-game reason to explain why monsters drop items. The real reason that enemies carry weapons around has nothing to do with the story whatsoever. Sega is simply relying upon the Random Drop gameplay mechanic trope. ;)

There's something kinda sad but also utterly horrifying about this, like an imperfect attempt at recreating everything, like the Reapers in Mass Effect. I dig it. That's why I always found the whole D-Cells thing to be really interesting.
