10th Anniversary Event Thread

The new AA1/2 point implementation was a great idea. Whomever thought of that, kudos.
I've only got a couple million XP left to hit level 200 on my RAcast so I've been loving that quest, especially since we hit the first milestone and got the XP boost. It's got a really good variety of drops too, even if the odds aren't great for most of them.

I was checking the anniversary post for the millionth time and realised I forgot to mention my thanks to the staff. So here goes!

Thank you so much, I never thought I'd be playing this game online, especially not reaching Ultimate and making friends on the way! This thanks is not only for the anniversary event and the hard work, but for the rest of the year too: friendly, helpful, creative, and avtive staff (meaning the community stays alive)! Thank you for makign this possible and for maintaining things for so long, the game would be dead without such commitment BIG HIGH FIVES to everyone! :D

Also, I wanted to say that I think the addition of the sonic mag was a really cool idea! It’s something brand new to PSO BB (I’m pretty sure) but also familiar and small so the game stays fairly “ vanilla.” It just makes sense. It’s a super rare mag cell that felt like it should have been in the base game all along. Great job Ephenia team!

Side note: When I was kid, I always imagined Sega adding a sonic mag and a tails mag. It just made sense having sonic run next to you or tails fly right behind you. lol

A little late, but I just uploaded a new version of AA1 that contains most of the changes I wanted to make before the event began. I also made a few more changes during my testing the past few days.

The quest was too difficult last year because of the tanky enemies, large monster variety, and some of the spawns being spread out. Most of this was addressed by removing some of the monster variety and reworking some spawns. The quest did lose about 25 enemies in total, including my beloved 2x Delbiter + Dorphon spawn :(

Might add some monsters back depending on feedback. I already updated the counts on the wiki, and I will update the drop charts on the wiki when I have free time tonight.

Let me know what you think of it compared to the previous version.

I've only played once since I reinstalled the game two days ago. The first quests I wanted to play were AA1 and AA2 since they are very unique and only available during the event. I didn't immediately notice, since it had been a year, but now that you mention it, the mob density in AA1 did seem a little lower. With the way AA1 and AA2 always help milestones and get perma-badge-boosts this year I think it would be fine to keep the harder version. Newer players may find it hard, but with 3p-4p it should still be fine imo...

I attempted AA1 when the event started on Normal mode and just got obliterated...I think I'll file it under the "when I'm stronger" category o_O
I'm having loads of fun with the MA quests though, boosting through EXP and so many rare loot I'm filling up my banks! :D

I just played the mission in the new format, and in my opinion, it is about 40% easier than it used to be.

Yeah, it's supposed to be easier. I don't mind adding a few more enemies for difficulty, but the quest was a bit brutal for most players last year.

The passion was There.... SONIC Team just didn't take it further.... missed opportunities, neh?

I played the new AA1. There are fewer enemies than before, and powerful enemies such as Morphos, Ilgil, and Merikarol are gone. (However, the most difficult waves, Epsilon and Dubchich, remain.)
There were some waves that I hadn't seen before, but overall, it feels much easier.

There are fewer enemies than in AA2, so it takes less time to clear. AA1 is probably the best choice if you want to earn milestone points.

Thanks to Ender for fixing the quest.

~Where were you... when the 95h spread needle dropped? ~ *

I was chasing Swordsman Lore and the game, as if realizing the absurdity of the last banner, decided to relent and the very next girta gave up the goods.

*TIL banner doesn't factor in proper tekking
