USB keyboard new player name

Hi I'm new to the forums but not new to the private server scene, so I have this issue with this game on my windows 10 setup, so the keyboard input works when signing into my account but upon making a new player, I can not for the life of me input any name for my player, like enter works but no key strokes are registering.

Please help
 
Did you activate IME in the launcher options ?
