NOTE: There is currently an issue with Hallo Rappy drops. This issue will be corrected with a ship update later today.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!!!!!!! <3!!!!

Hi I have a few questions as this is my first Halloween Event.

1. To obtain a cookie I just farm anything in the game and wait for the drop?

2. Is one cookie enough to gain access to this event or are they used up for each time I do an event quest.

I enjoyed the last event immensely but the "entrance ticket" to participate in this one is definitely different. Thank you.

1. Yup, they drop from anything at the rates listed in the original post
2. One cookie is enough to gain access to one play of the event (Halloween category) quests for a full party of 4, but they are consumed on use, so further cookies are required for further plays. Cookies have a small bonus to their drop rates while playing the Halloween quests, so it's common to get into a party of 4, and have all players rotate who pays the Cookie for the event, and contribute any Cookies dropped in the following runs to continual play

The Halloween event wiki page should have all the details and I don't think anything significant has changed.

Are the Hallo Rappy drops fixed properly? Our party of 4 in a temple cookie quest killed a hallo rappy, and didn't get the love rappy drop OR a Jack-O-Lantern. The love rappy drop would've been 1/1.33 and the jack-o-lantern should be 1/1.00 according to my drop table addon. I guess it's possible we just missed the rappy getting up, but I'm pretty sure we had gifoies up.

I just checked the server logs and found a handful of instances today that were obviously Jack-O'-Lantern and <Love Rappy> drop across various difficulties and quests, and that includes both shared and PSO2 drop styles (one person mode internally forces shared drops). I also took another look through the code and it looks good to me. I did test this during the maintenance on Fodra to ensure the ships were updated with the fix, and of course I did plenty of testing prior to the emergency maintenance. As always, I could be missing some corner case but I'm not seeing one.

I just tested with 3 clients on the dev ship (dev ship allows multiclienting in sandbox for debugging) and killed two Hallo Rappies in a test quest. It seems to be working as expected:

Also, rare rates are always capped at 7/8. There's no reason for them to be capped like that. The server just honors the 'highest possible rate' from previous versions of PSO and it's been like that forever.

It does seem rather unlucky.

Sunday edit: checked the logs again and more convinced it's working.

Quick question: it's said that the drops do not apply to the Classic mode, if so which is the difference and is there any point in me switching modes for me to fully experience the event?

The post is referring to classic as in the characters playing on the Devaloka ship. It's not referring to the drop style or exp share 'classic' styles which should be renamed to be less confusing.

I could probably vent for a few paragraphs on how "sandbox" is a different account style, the "classic" ship is a ship you select after character creation, and then "classic" drops/exp is selected from the party creation menu. It's given me a lot of pause on how to organize the wiki's "game modes" page already
