Occasional Issues with Direct3D

This error pops up fairly often. Its especially annoying when i'm in the middle of a quest and can't rejoin because of it. Alt-tabbing or resizing the window will almost always cause this. But sometimes the game itself will "flicker"/studder and this message will pop up in the middle of me playing. Is there anything I can do to help keep this from happening? I'm on Windows 10. WD is turned off and the game is white listed.

1. Don’t use Classic Fullscreen. (This will let you ALT+TAB)
2. If using an ATI card, try disabling whatever that overlay software they use.
3. Could also try disabling UAC, but that is extreme. (Though if UAC is enabled and you try to install software with PSO running, you most certainly will crash.)

If you're on an AMD card and the overlay is crashing you make sure to get 18.12.3/Adrenalin 2019 since it works with PSO. The November driver would crash you. If you don't already have it, download it here https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-18-12-3

I finally fixed this issue, just incase anyone else runs into it.

I play the game using VMware workstation 15. Their current version of VMware Tools causes the issue. Simply going to the system tray and clicking exit has fixed the issue for me. not a single crash since I did that. Have to do it with each restart.

also setting the psobb.exe to high priority has helped a bunch also with just general performance.
