Mag Trigger Effects

I've always wondered what the (-) and (+) indicated on the wiki.

(+) means the trigger rate is higher if synchro is high, and (-) means it's lower if synchro is low.

 

[Chronos Notashi]

(+) means the trigger rate is higher if synchro is high, and (-) means it's lower if synchro is low.

To go into a bit more detail here, any trigger with (+) means that the trigger rate for the mag is the MINIMUM for that trigger, with the rate increasing as the mag's Sync stat increases (not sure how much the increase is when Sync = 120%). Conversely, a trigger with (-) means that the mag's trigger rate is the MAXIMUM for that trgger, and the rate DECREASES the farther away your mag's Sync is from the 120% cap (again, not sure much the decrease is when Sync = 0%, but still a small idea to stay as FAR away from that number as possible).

The Mag special Synchro boost tiers are as follows:

Synchro   Activation
00%-30%     +00
31%-60%     +15
61%-80%     +25
81%-100%    +30
101%-120%   +35

If the Mag has the boost flag set, then the Synchro bonus is added to the base activation rate, e.g. Rati has a 50% base rate and the boost flag set for its full PB trigger, so with 101% Synchro or higher, the odds of getting Shifta and Deband are 50 + 35 = 85%.

If the Mag has the Synchro only flag set, then the Synchro bonus replaces the base activation rate, e.g. Sato has a 50% base rate and the Synchro only flag set for its full PB trigger, so Sato is limited to a 35% chance to give invincibility when you hit 100 PB, and if you have < 101% Synchro, the odds are even worse.

For completeness, here are the types of boosts a Mag can have on each trigger (100 PB, boss, 1/10 HP, or death):

Type   Effect
00     Base chance only
01     Base chance + Synchro boost
02     Synchro boost only
03     Base chance - 10
04     Synchro boost - 10
05     Always 0

For types 3 and 4, the base chance must be > 10 to start with, or the result will be a 0% chance to activate.
