Issue w/ game freezing

So, I recently decided to get back into PSO and was really excited about Ephinea, it sounded perfect for me. Problem is, as soon as my character appears on my chosen ship, the bgm starts skipping and my game freezes. I've read the readme, setup WinXP compatibility, followed all other advice, disabled and re-enabled about every setting to troubleshoot, tried different resolutions/aspect ratios, and can't find a fix. Has anyone else had this problem? Everything seems perfectly fine until I reach my ship. I really hope I don't have to give up on Ephinea, it really seems like I'd prefer it over Ultima. Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

What processor/graphics card do you have?
What OS?
Do you have frame skip enabled?
Have you tried disabling DEP (Data Execution Prevention) in Windows?

Actually, nm. Apparently I never launched the game outside of compatibility mode. I figured since I'm running Win10 I was certain to have problems without it. All I had to do was turn it off. I was tired last night, haha. Thanks anyway, I appreciate the response
