Wow, it is amazing to me to find out, after all these years, that PSO is still running and has a healthy amount of players. I had no idea until this past weekend. I was in the middle of playing Persona 3 Reloaded on my PS5 and something popped in my head and I began to reminisce about playing the original PSO on my Dreamcast all those years ago. I was getting mentally tired, as it was late at night, so I decided to take a break from P3R and hop on to Youtube for a short while. My curiosity led me to checking on Google and finding out that 1) there are still servers that run PSO, and that 2) with the right adapter I could in fact play it again on my Dreamcast. I quickly found how pricey the DreamPi was going for, but then discovered that there was the PC version as well. Now I know I can just boot up my Dreamcast, drop in the PSO v2, and continue playing offline with the characters on my old VMU, but I really wanted to play with other people.
So that's what brings me here. I have decided to try and see if I could find anyone who would be interested in casually playing with me on a Friday or Saturday night (EST). I am a father now so my game time is mostly limited to those nights. I am going to also ask a few of my real life friends, but IDK how interested they would be in a "retro/classic" game from this era if they hadn't played it during its prime.
Oh, and if it matters, I am a complete noob. I got this installed on my PC yesterday and spent about an hour trying to get my controller to work, which I eventually did, then I played through a large section of Forest 1. I ended up at lvl 3 I believe. When I played the original back in around 2000-2001 I was mostly offline solo and at times I had my best friend hop on to join me. And from what I can remember, there was a Dragon like boss that the two of us couldn't beat. So there is a lot I don't know, and I am looking forward to just hanging out and casually making my way through the game with a buddy or 2.
