Game not starting

Played fine for the past week but today when I woke up the game opens for a second and then shuts down. Haven't changed any settings. Only error log that has anything says

"
Failed : CreateDevice
Error : Can't use format [D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8]

Failed : CreateDevice
Error : Can't use format [D3DFMT_A8R8G8B8]"

Hopefully someone can help. Thank you.
 
Maybe your video card driver stopped working. Normally a restart fixes that. I've seen buggy programs that utilize directx crash the video card driver. You'll find it logged in the event viewer. Or it could be a buggy driver. If it occurs again I'd recommend getting the latest WHQL driver for your video card.
