Ep1 Quest 2-1:Infernal Cavern multi person step pads...

Not sure if a bug nor what to call them but so far in every game I've played on this server the 2 or 4 person pads where each person is supposed to stand to open a door acts as a toggle. So when the player leaves the pad it stays green. In this quest there is a 4 person room lock that doesn't have the pads toggle on but only on when standing on them. That is stepping off the pad, it turns red again.

In the room with a message, the start of which reads "The Nano Dragon is a fierce monster."

Observed this with a HUnewearl on Very Hard. (Edit: Normal play mode).

The reason this is, is because Government quests are meant to be played in Multiplayer mode, which implies that you'll have multiple people playing with you which is why the floor pressure plates dont toggle; this is common in multiplayer mode quests as there are separate toggled pressure plates for solo and normal pressure plates for multiplayer mode.

In the quest you're specifically talking about, the pressure plate doors are not the only route to completion of the quest; they are optional doors that likely lead to boxes or optional enemies, but the Government quests, despite being made for multiplayer mode, are still complete-able solo.
Hope this helps.

The "Solo'able multiplayer maps" entry on the server feature list suggests that this is not intended behavior, or at least indicates an overly narrow interpretation of "solo'able".

That refers to the ability to clear the quests and free field maps. It doesn't mean all side paths are unlocked for solo.

Noticed that myself, I always thought they were just alternate routes for teams
In some quests they are yes. Like for example in EN2's Caves 1, there's a door in Multiplayer mode that requires 2 people to stand on pressure plates for a shorter route, but if you take the door to the left you can still complete the quest despite playing it in Multiplayer mode.

Not all multiplayer quests have these kinds of options for solo though.
