Dual Screen with latpop

Hi, my laptop is an old Asus X54H series with a HD 6470M Radeo series. I just got a second screen (21" and ly laptop is 15") and when I plug it in (VGA) it's "flashing" a little ? ANyone can help me ? Is my GPU not powerful enough to handle 2 screens ? I tried to play Dark Souls on the big screen (the laptop screen was black on purpose) but the pc crashed.
Haven't tried PSO yet.

The 21" was set to recieve an incoming signal from vga right? Try in the monitor's menu to set it to VGA. It don't automatically know so will give you nothing if it's not set right. Most monitors accept dvi hdmi and vga as well.

On the other hand, does the 21" work with another pc? Just making sure its not faulty. You did just purchase it so i'm sure it's probably not.. but just to make sure try to see if it works on another pc before calling manufacturer tech support.
