Did I get IP banned for some reason?

Hello,
I was playing with my buddy in Forest on hard when I got booted from the server. When I tried to reconnect, the game said it couldnt connect to patch server. When I tried to go to the website, I got an "Unable to connect" error in the browser. My buddy said he could get to the website just fine. I then connected to a vpn and was able to get to the website and connect to the game just fine. Can someone shed some light onto why my ip got restricted? Wasn't doing anything you can't do outside the game.

dont think so... my buddy never got disconnected. Am back in and playing now in the same session we had started earlier
 
True this. However, I wonder why I couldnt access the site or game from my address, but when I changed networks, it allowed me access.... tis strange
 
American ISP's were having trouble connecting to the server temporarily due to issues with our chicago based server (afaik) yet again. If you got banned you would have a "You are banned from this server" when trying to login.
