Could the bundled DXVK be updated?

Ephinea's "Vulkan" setting uses a fairly old version of DXVK, version 2.3.1. Certain graphical effects in the game are broken with this version, like water ripples. From my limited testing, the latest version, 2.7.1, seems to fix this.

It seems that this fix happened a couple of years ago, but wasn't included in Ephinea because the game would crash if you were on Windows and had the Lua addon plugin installed. I'm on Linux, so this crash doesn't happen for me, and I can't test if it still happens or not.

So, my questions are as follows:
  • Does this crash still occur for Windows users when using DXVK 2.7.1 with the Lua addon plugin?
  • If it doesn't, could the bundled DXVK be updated to 2.7.1?
  • If it does, could 2.7.1 still be included as an alternative for those who aren't affected by the crash? For example, having both a "Vulkan (DXVK 2.3.1)" and "Vulkan (DXVK 2.7.1)" option in the launcher.

If you're on linux, could you try selecting DX8 instead of vulkan? Since this would use the system-level DXVK to perform the conversion, instead of the bundled one, I believe?

After some testing, the best choice seems to be "DX9" for linux users.
DX8 breaks some texture animations, notably seaside's water, the CCA veildoors, and probably many of the textures in caves and desert, as well as the scrolling textures in the lobby, and on displays in episode 2 hub area.
