Can't enter password

I'm on Windows 7. This same thing happened when I tried to get Eden to work as well:

1. game starts
2. I can enter my username, but I cant get to the next line to enter password.
3. Sound is a little choppy, like from lag

I've tried tab, clicking on the password area, hitting enter, and a few other buttons. DirectX is up to date.

Specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 Processor 3.40 GHz
12 GB RAM
64 Bit
Windows 7 Home Premium
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Tab and mouse do not work for navigating the main menu. Just select the username field enter username then use the arrow keys or gamepad to select the password.

Thanks...I had a feeling it would be something really simple that I missed. Oh well...worth the embarrassment to get this going!
