Can't access main menu (kb)

So I just registered and downloaded the game because I miss PSO and love this game to death. I create my character and it seems whenever I press f12, I can't access the menu. I have tried every button combination I can think of and I can't access the menu. Everything else works fine: walking, chatting, attacking enemies, etc. but I can't seem to open the menu. I've tried f12, r+y, tab, etc. I can't get it open. Can anybody help me out?

By any chance does your keyboard have a function lock key ? If it does, try pressing that and then use F12.

I do, I have tried that and that didn't work.

Home should also open the main menu, you can try that instead if F12 refuses to work for you.

tried it, won't work. I should state that I am using a bluetooth keyboard. specifically logitech k400. i'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it?

Is it k400 plus ? I found a support article for the k400 plus model which says that the function keys are assigned to media controls by default. Not sure if that would interfere at all, but here's the article :

If that's the case you may also be able to use the standard function keys by holding fn and then pressing F1, F2, F12, etc..
