2026 M4 Macbook Air Sequoia 15.7.3 - Need help playing via Crossover

Howdy folks, as the title states, I'm trying to play the game on my mac with Crossover. I looked at all the old threads on how to play the game on mac, but none of the methods worked for me. To my knowledge, I haven't seen any instructions on how to get in running on a newer mac running Sequoia macOs. I wish to run the game through Crossover because it's the simplest way to me. If anyone has any advice on how to do this or how to run it on my machine via a different method, the help would be much appreciated!

I would just install the free version of VMware Fusion and install Windows on it.

You don’t need to pay for a Windows license just to play the game. I mean, unless you really want to activate it.

Basically just:

1. Install VMware Fusion
2. Set up Windows VM (it guides you through the process)
3. Install VMware Tools (I think it does this automatically too, I forgot.)
4. Install Ephinea.
5. Play the game.

Thank you, I will give this a shot if I cannot get crossover to work!

"I’ve been fiddling with PSOBB this evening using crossover on my M1 Max MBP to reasonable success so thought I’d share what I did. It has been my first time using crossover, and I am currently still using the trial. I have found that the DLL errors happen on the 64 bit windows bottles. With this in mind I’ve found that windows 10 32-bit is the best bottle to use. On top of that, switching on DXVK for the bottle in crossover and setting the PSOBB client to run using Direct3D 11 allowed for the game to run in a stable condition with no graphical issues or crashes so far. The only issue I’ve found is that the default draw distance can cause the frame rate to tank in places. It’s strange because the game runs fine at high resolutions, with antialiasing and filters etc. But it doesn’t matter what resolution it’s set at, certain parts of the forest area that load the dome and waterfall on screen in the distance can cause massive slowdown and performance issues and I’ve not found a solution so far other than to reduce the “map” slider in the more setting in the PSOBB client. This resolves 95% of the issue, but it’s also a shame that as a result the draw distance is much worse that when I used to play on my Dreamcast. It doesn’t really affect the gameplay though and I’m sure there’s some more tweaking I can do to get it working a bit better. Regardless, it’s been great revisiting the game again."

I recall installing crossover, downloading the exe, doing the win10 32bit bottle, switching the graphics as noted above and it did go into launcher/game.

Yeah, I've read that thread (and all the others I could find about this!) and tried using those settings. I'm assuming since all those posts are years old that something has changed with software/hardware I'm using that prevents it from working :(
