Hey guys, I am Bocop, I am going to try this tonight, is there anything I should know before I start? I would love to play with some people as well? Is there some guild I can join??

Here are the Q's:

1- Is this legit Dreamcast style? I do not want to see crazy mods and cheats on the server I am trying to play on
2- How fast can I level, is it the same as I remember?
3- What are the main things that are different from the Dreamcast build? thanks!

Let me know, I am 37 yr old male from NY who plays a ton of Destiny on PS4 and I have a nostalgic need to try out my first real online game!! haha!

Also is there a slack chat or something? I need a quick refresher of this game in general. I think I had a level 70 on dreamcast back in the day.... lol. I think.

1 -this is PSO blue burst, which is basically the GameCube version of Phantasy star online episode 1 and 2, with BB episode 4 added. There are some mods to change certain textures and such but nothing that affects the game.
2 - you can level up pretty fast if you can get a group to help you (which shouldn't be a problem) and there are occasional exp boosts.
3 - this is the GameCube version, so you can just look up the changes if you google around (sorry to busy to link).

But hopefully you enjoy the time on the server and good luck on your hunts.

Welcome Bocop! I just found this server recently and haven't played Destiny since. A couple big things, when you first get into the lobby after logging in, hit spacebar then type /help to see some useful commands. My fav was the section id change, so you don't have to plan your name choice to get the id you need. drop charts are available here. when you create a party, if you want to run solo for a minute to get reoriented, change game mode to single (normal has boosted enemies). People here are super cool, and if you make an open party people will drop in and help level you.

Oh, you can use a controller as well, there are articles online detailing how to use a ps4 controller, I just got my wired xbox 360 controller rocking last night which made a heck of a difference.
There is a "normal mode" quest in episode 1 called Towards the Future (in the VR section) where you battle all the bosses in a row, and with a medium to high powered team mate it's an easy run and you will level very quickly (not to mention get some great items for a new character)

I do not know which version of the game you played, version 1 for dreamcast or v2 for dreamcast that introduced the new level cap, the new weapons and the new difficulty (among many other things)
So if you are familiar with v1, you may need to start with a v1 to v2 differences guide, if you played v2 then it is better that you read a v2 to ep1&2 (for GC and xbox) guide like this one:

Having that in mind, the Gamecube versions acts as a base for blueburst, the ui and some mechanics remain the same, but blueburst improved or changed some content and obviously each server has it's own "taste"

Hios Boco-san! Yet another Dreamcaster returns to satisfy his Nostalgic craving for a time long gone! This is Awesome!! Mew herself has survived the First two releases of DC PSO as well, that 2nd release KILLED her original Dreamcast with all its rampant reading and whirring of EVERY Singular body that would pop up in lobby. Worse case scenario if u Really want to relive the DC feelz....you can visit the dreary classic Dreamcast lobby =P. But as other family members have said, it's mostly Gamecube backdrops with all the awesomeness that is psobb sprinkled in! =3 And yes, there's many sincere souls here that adore new people! <3 Speaking of which....Welcome Home! =3

OK guys/gals, how do I get the special Sega themed ANYTHING, Dreamcast Mag, Sonic costume, how do I do it?!

welcome to ephinea boco !
hope you enjoy your time on the server. n.n

ps: you can download HUD's from other websites that offer them [ i cant remember the link/site]
i believe there is the old DC hud your probably aclimated too. n.n

But i dont think they allow for custom character skins.

Another old Dreamcast player here too. Played mostly v1. Only raised my L100 char to 102 in v2. Played a little on Schtack after official server went down. Recently got the Gamecube version to play on my Wii with its multiplayer splitscreen. Then I decided to search for free servers and found this. Still playing the GC version a lot but will be more on here at some point. Recently loaded up my Dreamcast characters from possibly as far back as 2001 just to see my rare weapons in that. It's great to see what's going on with Ephinea!
