Okay yeah this has nothing to do with classic or any other ways of playing the game. I'd recommend finding quests with high enemy counts that are available there that drop the items you want and playing those quests. But for now, I've got a new top 10 list of the quests I now think are the best value, now taking the coins from pw quests into account and have some other quests listed I think are pretty good, too.
Honorable mentions: SR3 (good lame hunt but SU3 is so fast that is is largely just worse), PW3/SU8 (pretty decent value, can go for HS or pwand here and both are pretty good or just do PW3 box runs), SU9 (good team required), WoL4 (a HS run that's largely worse than NMU3 or NMU4 but still good), and pretty much every other quest in the maximum attack category.
The new list (note that the weekly boosts are NOT included here. As in, quests like PoD or MA1b should be higher than where I've listed them if it is rare enemy week):
10. PoD: A great place to try to farm for Lame or HS during rare enemy week.
9. SU3: Only takes about 5 minutes and gives a lot of lame, V101, PD, etc. chances per minute. Good any time but rare enemy week.
8. MA1B: This is a caves only run but one that gives a lot of pwand chances in a fairly low amount of time. Great during rare enemy week.
7. MAE: Ep4: This is one of the best-balanced quests around that is runnable on any ID and still gives pretty good value. But the overall best is either oran or purple during rare enemy week, or red during any other week. Some may even try to change the ID to purple if Kondrieu shows up and start on some other ID, like red. A ton of items you can hunt here and you pretty much just can't go wrong with this quest and it works well during any week.
6. NMU3: A great place to hunt for HS and it also gives a small chance at DoB or V101 on red/green. Also just a lot of enemies which give a lot of extra chances to get things like PDs and materials.
5. MA4c crater: This is a very fast and dense quest where the entire crater is doable very fast, either solo or with a group. Best on viridia for just the crater but this quest is also pretty strong to complete on several IDs. Viridia crater is overall best value but you can also do the whole quest on IDs like red or green for weapons like CR and HS instead. MA4a/b/r are also good but c is the one I'm saying is overall best for this spot as it has the most dorphons. The viridia crater runs here are especially powerful on rare enemy week.
4. NMU4 resets: These may not be very exciting to most people but you can't deny their value. You can beat 6 pyro gorans in only a little over a minute, or with a party you can do most of the quest on A1 and still kill a lot of pyro gorans per minute.
3. TE pre-dragon: This is a very powerful quest that is best on white for red saber, DoB, Milla, and most importantly, Frozen Shooter and the whole forest can be cleared in about 5 minutes with a good party. Also popular on purple or blue and you can also fight the dragon and the lilies afterwards if you want but the 5-minute version without that is the overall best value per minute here. For frozen shooter obviously rare enemy week is the best for this, but it is actually very playable on any week and especially on dar week it is pretty underrated as you can expect to get a ton of PDs and materials here.
2. PW2. Yes it's probably higher than on older lists I made now that I have considered the coins to be worth something whereas before I hadn't really calculated their true value. With a chance to get all of Lame, DoB, Tyrell's Parasol, Madam's Umbrella, and all the items you can get with your lucky coins, this gives a ton of value that should be useful to virtually any player. My favorite for this quest is definitely dar week but it's still quite strong during any week but rare enemy week.
1. MA2a/b/c/r (doesn't matter which): To get the best value you must be willing to do the most boring quest around. This is a 1-minute run with using a fonewm to just cast ra-techs to defeat the first room and the 2 waves of gees to start the 2nd room. But the value here is off the charts because every single one of the enemies and the boxes can all drop DoB. That's right, not a single enemy or box that can't drop you a good rare, giving it higher efficiency than anything else on here. It is also doable on pink for Lames but I prefer PW2 for that so I'd only really bother with running this on white.
Also new Halloween quests list: (since my old ones I believe I overvalued Lame and HS, but now that we've seen a 55-hit HS auction we have more data about how valuable they really are), also note that since they cost a cookie, it's much more worth using anguish on these than it is for most other quests as getting even that 1 extra dar and 5 rdr for your cookies matters a pretty good amount.
5. A1 Skyly desert - mostly for Lame
4. A1 Blue seabed - mostly for Pwand
3. A1 White seabed - mostly for HS
2. A2 White forest - Kinda like TE but even better drop rate. Very doable on A2 with a good party and Frozen Shooter seems to be worth a lot more than it used to which has helped this move up the list. Although be warned, this may be a smaller upgrade in terms of value per minute as compared to TE than other options on this list give.
1. A1 Viridia cater - Still the king of getting lames, rivaled only by CF4, and lames are so valuable that this is the best quest on here, albeit not by much and the A2 white forest is only a tiny bit less value per run than this.
