Rambling ahead.

I already mentioned this in my introduction post but I might as well expand on it. So I was from Gamecube. I don't remember how long I played PSO but it for a good number of months at the very least; probably over a year or so. I think I also hit level 120ish as a Greennill HUmar. That Class in particular is special to me personally since it was the first one I ever played as in PSO. I was introduced to a good friend who I played with for awhile there. But then GC PSO went down we eventually moved to Schthack. I still have screenshots of our time there.

Sadly, after knowing him for what feels like almost a decade, he broke off all communication with me and it's been years since I've talked to him. His friend (Who I've also known for a long while and notably never played PSO) hasn't talked to him in about as long either. All I know is that he's still alive and well. It's incredibly unlikely that my friend is here and I don't expect to run into him but still I do really like this game all the same.

That title theme will always be my favorite.
*Blinks at post with wet eyes and a warm smile* NO ONE truely "Quits" PSO dear...if your friend made it with you as far as SCHT then there's Moar of a likelyhood that they'll pop up again and take a look around...its at THAT moment Fate will decide if you'll bump into each other in a lobby (esp during a Holiday event)...or if you keep your character name might see you in an open room and take a chance to investigate? People tend to 'Like' familiarity, so when a New purrson logs on into a busy lobby,,,the first thing theyre gonna wanna do is look around...check out room names...look at and appraise other player names...might even ask random ppl "Has anyone ever heard of a player named Serph?". If you both were on SCHT when Crono has "lost" All our data...your missing friend will have the same feeling of injustice upon them and desire to 'make things right' by starting over again...you know? That will hopefully lead them.....HERE....and not the 'other' *urp* 'servers' So Harbor Hope that they may yet find their way home and find your blood covered smile again! Hang in there!! By chance you remember what your battle buddy's name was? Mew might have a good chance of pouncing them and directing them to you~? Stay Sane! <3!

He never went by just one name for his character as I remember it. But the character he played as exclusively in schthack was a FOmar named Lao Tsu. I was a HUcast there.

I started on Dreamcast (version 2) but never played that version online. That was back in the day when you had no mat limit and could max out stats just be eating mats. My greatest find was a red saber in Ultimate mode. I never found "Darth Maul's Lightsaber". Hey it was 1999/2000. SW Episode 1 was big back then.

I also played on Gamecube. My home block was Denab 9. I was part of the "IGN" message board crowd. My main there was a FOnerwearl named "B". I re-created her on this server. I also had a HUcast and a RAmarl.

I did not play PSOBB when Sega released it. I checked in about 3-4 times a year to see when PSO2 would come state-side and it never did. Around the end of 2018, I just decided to give a private server a chance and chose this one. So far so good, though I think we see way to many nice rares (with good hit %) given away during events.

*POUNCIES!!* Yes! Mew feels your pain...Her very first character name was a Tall Amazon of a HUney named Sithikat and she too desired the twin red saber of Awesome Sauce....So you can imagine her despair when she happens upon one only to find it mocking her with a RED X....=(. The green double saber and Blue Twin Brand was blasphemous, but with G/battle....it was acceptable >=3. VERY Happy you like it here and feel the need to make up for lost time and passions! Welcome Home! =3

Greetings fellow Guild Members,

I have have finally returned after an extended deep space exploration mission. Sadly, I have not been successful in tracking down the lost *(*&(#$@) @$)_(&..ments of $)()@&# that we were trying to locate.

During my long hyper-sleep I seem to have forgotten my battle prowess and have much training to do. As my old trainer used to say, an un-wielded weapon soon rusts.

Please have patience while I re-accustom myself to planetary missions and recover my previous gear (which has also gone missing...).

May your blades and bursts strike true and destroy the Heart of d())(#$, to @#$%!quish $)()@&# once and for all.

-Zelendria Ru, former Fortetecher, Newman of the 2nd Colonial mission

OOC: Been playing since NA DC launch, as the rest I have seen every side of the game, good and bad, from FSOD attacks to game changes, switched to GC and owned the ASCII keyboard, then to PS2 PSU (both of them), but skipped PSOBB as I didn't think that stepping back in time made sense given the advances in PSU (love or hate them)...

Always played HUnewearl as main, but also have dabbled with Force (FOnewearl) and some Cast toons, all together I think I've had 5-6 characters in the 100-130 level range, but Zelly on PSU maxed out at level 170 Fortetecher before the servers went dark. Pushing toward getting my first level 50 mag (with 3 PBs of course) and always looking for a TTF or other speed runs to try to grind up the exp towards greater things!

As for my reasons for "googling PSO" I believe that its because recently the MMO trend is so impersonal, there no reason to talk anymore, matching is automatic and the grind versus reward became an ordeal and simply not entertaining anymore. I have chatted and interacted with more people in the past few days than over the course of months in the other games I had been playing.

***Zelly blushes intensely while returning your feline-like embraces...it seems like she's caught in your hold and not in a particular rush to get free...***

"Thank you for the warm welcome Mew-san, its good to be home indeed." *sighs contentedly*

Pretty sure I was a V1 US launch day participant, if not pretty close. I used to travel full-time for work right out of college, so PSO was my social time. Shortly into my venture on Dreamcast I met a couple named Adam/Kate that had founded a PSO website called psoexplorer.com; It became fairly well known among players as Adam/Kate would let players send them cash and they would purchase a hunter's license on their credit card. I became close friends with this couple and became the moderator for psoexplorer.com; in later years this site would become known as Gamedreamz.com, which unfortunately closed a few years back. Adam has actually become a fairly famous children's book writer.

Sega PSOBB would probably stick out as my next favorite PSO experience from Dreamcast. I recognized Ruby Eclipse's name on the Sega forum as someone I had met on Dreamcast. Along with him and a few other of his real life friends, we would found Team jeM on PSOBB Sega server. Little did we know this team would grow 200+ players strong. It was a really fun time, except for the large team drama!

I'm not really sure what keeps bringing me back to this game. The dynamics are annoying, the hunts are incredibly frustrating, but for whatever reason it's just stinking fun to play. I'll probably keep playing this game on and off for the rest of my life if it's around and there are people to play with.

I remember the dc days. BB is great, but the older ones still bring back the memories :)

I found a used Gamecube v1.00 copy in an EBGames while in vacation more than a decade ago. Even though I wasn't at home to play it yet, I already knew I was in for some good times. Got home later and started playing it... And after a slow and experimental start, practically fell in love with the damn game.
After I got more into the game, I started doing some research into what I was missing by not playing it online. I already knew it was quite a bit, but it would still be a long while before I found out how much that was. (And I was already thoroughly enjoying offline/splitscreen!)
2007 comes around, and after having it brought to my attention, I get Blue Burst and start playing on Schtserv and even got an old friend I played splitscreen with on board too.
Things went downhill there (many from back then will know what I'm talking about,) and I basically stop going there.
Around the same time, alternative methods to get the Gamecube version online start popping up, and I found myself involved with helping them test a lot of that. Eventually, I start favoring the Gamecube version again, and even importing my formerly PSOBB particle mod into it.
Fast-forward a little, and I hear about Ephinea... I look into what it offers and how it works, and I start re-living fond times in my mind and I immediately made two accounts. (one Sandbox, one normal)
I didn't really play much until more recently, and I've loved every minute of it.
I have since collected several US copies of different versions of PSO, even ones that aren't super useful. (lol Xbox)
Still enjoying this damn game.

And I just want to say
Thank you, to Sodaboy and to everyone keeping the PSO spirit alive.

Aurellies-Taichouuuu~! <3 Yes, thank the Heavens for Soda-samas and his mission capable comrades! <3!

I started on GC in 2001, played online almost exclusively (but I do not remember the specific board I moderated at, PSOLife maybe?) under the handle CastorofTroy. Made some great friends and logged a tremendous amount of hours lol. Super excited to have found this community though and looking forward to logging as many hours as I can.

*POUNCES, examines and dusts off carefully!* Having players who've been away for so long is always nice....but hasing players who've been away and LIKE what they see here After being away so long is EVEN BETTER! <3! Hearing how you're looking forward to logging MOAR hours is icing on the cake~! Is your character name going to be Castor or something? Mew'd like to know who she's looking out for to Pounce and play wiff soon! =3 Welcome Home! =3

Ha! Thanks! Yes, the HUmar is Castor, undecided on what the RA and FO will be as of yet. Might keep it old school and stick with what I used before (orrrrr might change it to better fit ID's).

I figure I should at least get some traction going on one before making some alts though.

Worse case scenario is you can create a RA in order to halp raise your FO? FO's start off not only EXTRA SQUISHY...but DIRT POOR TOO! Some ppl will has another character Just to farm items and monies for their FO's. It would be a win/win for you if you're indecisive? =3

Yea, I was wanting to get some Meseta made and ideally some good lowbie armor (with slots) and such for new characters for that very reason. FO's are super fun but yea starting out solo is not lol.

Like the majority suggests, i too started on the Dreamcast...where hacked/duped items, constant crashes sometimes lead to the occasional corruption of your file b/c of others, and other fun things lead me to the point in my 9 month or so PSO DC career where i would never party up with randos unless i knew them or partied with them before, so most of the time i would just end up playing solo to at least try to get a "legit" experience that ultimately fell shy of my expectations. So as you can already tell, i ended up quitting the game and never looking back.

Then, a good 20 or so years later, on a night i was very bored and played PSO for literally shits and giggles on my ReDream emulator for like an hour to see what that once felt like, i said to myself, "Maybe there is a private or two out there that can provide a true vanilla experience like i had once upon a time before others completely ruined it...?" and low and behold, the only one that fit the bill i was looking for was Ephinea that had QoL changes im sure 99% of the player base welcomed, it was truly a match made in heaven (i guess the untimely impact of the pandemic had A LOT with me playing a lot more than i had anticipated, but hey, it is what it is).

Anyways the gist of all that blabber is that the main reason i have been on this server for almost a year and a half now is the fact that i think Soda and his crew do an incredible job of not only keeping the game as legit as possible (like in any game, sometimes, things fall between the cracks, but from what i have seen, this is quickly addressed if it does happen) and with the ingame events, this game is as fresh as it could ever be imo. I always say to myself that i wish i had found this server much sooner than i did, but im just glad i found it regardless. Bravo to everyone here that helps keep this server and this game super alive.
