Rati Mag Help

Not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, so if not I won't be offended if it's transferred elsewhere. So it's been a long time since I've played PSO, and that being said, it's been a long time since I've gone mag farming. I looked up a guide to raise a Rati as a Skyly Hunter. I followed all the steps, and got my mag to evolve to an Ila and the next step was to balance the stats, which I was doing. I had it so the mag was officially balanced with:

DEF - 5
POW -36
DEX - 36
MIND -5

but as soon as it became balanced the mag evolved into a Vahara. The guide mentioned nothing about this potentially happening so I'm kind of paranoid if I fucked it up or should I keep leveling it to 100 with balanced stats and be okay? Just asking for some input from people who may be more experienced because I sure as hell don't remember from the last time I tried making one.

As long as you keep the stats balanced, the Mag should still evolve into RATI if you evolve it using the correct class/section ID.

Most important factor (to my knowledge,) is to balance the stats, and evolve using the correct character once you are about to reach lv100.

I, just this minute, had the same scare because my mag evolved into like 14 different ones, so I was worried it wouldn't evolve into the one I wanted anymore. However, I kept the stats at where they needed to be and switched it off to the right class, and it evolved into DIWARI!

You're right, that is the guide I'm using. Alright, that's good to know. So once it's level 99 I just need to give it to a section A hunter to evolve it. Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure what guide you are using, but those special mags have nothing to do with type A or B Section IDs. For instance, Redria and Viridia are type A but they make Deva, not Rati (although their abilities are the same). Also being male or female matters.

To make Rati at level 100 (or 105, 110, 115 etc) take any mag that has not already evolved into a final form (yellow name) and, using a male Hunter:
If Skyly, Pinkal, or Yellowboze: Total of DEF+POW must equal the total of DEX+MIND.
If Greenill, Oran or Purplenum: Total of DEF+MIND must equal the total of POW+DEX.

Along the way, yes the mag may change types depending on its current stats. At 50 and every 5 levels after, it recalculates. You have a Vahara because at that level, you boosted POW to be even with DEX, and Power has precedence as a tiebreaker. So it had POW > DEX > MIND which is a Vahara. Before, it had DEX > POW > MIND which meant it was an Ila.

Also, the stats don't have to be "balanced" as in the exact same numbers, with your male Skyly Hunter a 5/45/50/0 mag would make a Rati.

Edit: Use my spreadsheet that I made, it's good for lots of stuff! Just be wary of the Blue Burst rare drop sections, as I haven't revised them yet and they were originally based on SCHT server. Use Ephinea's drop tables. I've been revising this for years - it's always a work in progress.

A similar thing happened to my Rati as I was leveling it it but as soon as I hit level 100 with the necessary DEF+POW = DEX+MIND it correctly became a Rati.
