I finished episode 1's Government quests on Normal and went onto Episode 2, trying to do the story.

Episode 2 was far too easy on Normal, nothing could hurt me, exp was terrible (even worse than episode 1), and the items were worthless

So I went onto hard mode and now episode 2 is too hard, things take forever to kill and everything hurts and knocks me down.

It's rough, and I know that Episode 2's third mission is going to make me have a time limit. I already did the mission on Normal and I only had 6 minutes left, out of 30 minutes. It's going to be impossible at this rate. The quests are unavailable in One Person mode.

My mag is level 109, something like 9/43/55/1

I went onto Very Hard and cheesed Mines 1 with a shadow rifle to get some equips, could barely hurt them, let alone hit them. Still is pretty difficult even with these better items.

I'm going to Gallon's shop now, wherever that is to get a barrier

1.
Is the difference between hard and normal supposed to be that massive or is this just an Episode 2 thing? Should I go back to Episode 1 and grind?

2.
I looked at boxhunting,

Not sure how to go about this

2.
There is rock music in the lobby and Pioneer 2, how do I get back the regular BGM?

3.
Are all these random Sonic chars here to stay? I find them an eyesore, sorry sonic fans

Q1. If it's that big of a difference at that level, your gear just isn't good enough. Focus on obtaining better gear.

Q2. That's not box hunting. That's a guide on the most efficient ways to kill enemies/break boxes in an area. Box hunting would refer to doing to beginning of Phantasmal World 3 (ep2 quest), then going back to the lobby and starting again after you've broken all of the boxes.

Q3. It's an event atm, that's why the Sonic characters are there. They'll be gone in a few weeks. Same goes for the classic Sega soundtrack ;).

I'd be more than happy to give you a few things/a few PDs to make your life easier.

You can trade for really impactful items from other players if you have a few photon drops. For example a level 200 mag for 1-2 PDs. A frozen shooter, spread needle, 50H charge arms, 50H charge Vulcan, for 1 PD each. A 4 slot armor and some key units like h/battle for a couple PDs.

Play in One person mode and do the Solo quests, not the government quests that you’re doing in normal party mode. Normal mode is much harder than one person mode.

Alternatively you could join open parties in hard mode or very hard mode and play with groups where enemies will die much quicker and you will stay much safer while gaining levels and items.

Hello, I think I have a frozen shooter you can have. I might have a few more things that might help you on the way I'll have to check.
