Somewhat new, with an easy question

I've played this game many thousands of hours from Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox (gamecube is the best version IMO).

I've been playing on scthack(?) but then found out about Ephinea and I love it!

So here's the question: How do I play through the original story? I've played it a million times, but I do still love playing through the whole thing to level my character up. I started a party, went to see the Principal, and there was no one there.

SQUEEeeeeee! *POUNCES and looks you over carefully!* Yet Another Old Guard Dreamcaster has returned to the fight! If by chance you mean ALL the little side story quests that sucked you into the storyline...Seek My Master...etc. They're only in "Single player" mode when you create a room ep1. Walk up to the guild counter and chose Side Story. You'll only see a few at first...but they unlock the rest of the good stuff! <3 Oh...MOST if not All of us here are SCHTHACK Refugee/Survivors too~! Depending on which mode you choose will determine if the principle is there or not. OH! And Welcome Home~!

I think they mean the main story that you would experience as if you were playing through the game normally in the original offline mode. For those you would want to do what are called the Government quests, which are started in the same place where the principal is found, and are started by talking to one of the NPC in there. I don't know if they are available in the offline mode or not (if they are I don't remember), but they are there in the normal mode and from what I can tell it is pretty much the old offline story but in quests adapted for online multiplayer.
