Hello Everyone! Just started playing Ephinea after spending most of my time playing on a Dreamcast and then on an emulator after losing it. I'm really looking forward to hopefully playing with you guys and getting into the swing of actually playing online with such an updated system!

Thank you :3 I started it earlier. Gotta get used to the keyboard layout because I'm usually not one to play computer games often, but the graphics and the fact that I can play in actual parties and not by my lonesome is super duper awesome!!!

By chance do you has a Wired XBOX360/ONE/PS4 pad laying around? Not only are these pads Plug and Play....but the button layout is similar to the old DC/GC setup so it's like 18 years of muscle memory! Any USB wired type pads will actually work too. BUT, before you go SHOVING the plug into a hole like it's your GF...make sure to close out PSO completely to allow it to handshake before restarting the game! =3!

I do not currently have any controllers that I can use, but that is a big must have for me. Trying to play last night on the keyboard was a bit difficult since the keys seem to work with the camera angle so I'd end up going the wrong direction mid-attack and especially against the wolves, it was really hard to constantly target them without getting knocked off my feet. Even when I was playing on the emulator, at least I had a set control pad and wasn't accidentally clicking the wrong buttons or having to constantly hunting down ctrl to use my other action buttons

PSO has killed MOAR XBOX pads than HALO Ever did! XD! But the great thing is, Gamestop has a bunch of refurbished pads for cheap! Just a thought! Stay SANE! =3!

In my case it wasn't really controllers, PSO killed my original Dreamcast and Gamecube because I played too much. RIP my little black cube buddy, I may have replaced you with a platinum pal but you will always be remembered! :D

@Tryven You have all sorts of options for controllers. You could get something like a cheap Logitech controller (I see one on Amazon pretty cheap), or probably any number of others. Do you currently have any home consoles? If you do then another possibility would be adapters to use those controllers on your PC, some of which might be cheaper than buying just a controller. I have one called the Mayflash Magic-NS that lets you use Wii, Wii U (not the big touch screen thing though), Switch, PS3, PS4, and I think some Xbox controllers on the Switch, PS3 and PC. Personally I like using my Wii U Pro controller with that adapter, especially considering the battery lasts so much longer than any current wireless controller.

Anyway, I don't typically comment on here but just thought I'd welcome you too. I'd offer to play with you, but I have a hard time playing with people unless I know them... social anxiety is a real pain.

Mew STILL has her original Black GC to play PSO EP3 and was even using it during her 8 year stint on SCHTHACK! <3 Her original Dreamcast however didn't survive the update release of PSO 2.1...EVERY player that would pop into lobby would cause the innards of the Dreamcast to whir and buzz over and over reading each new body popping in and out til one night mew heard a Sickening "PLINK...". The Black rubberband eye track had snapped! =(. Mew'll sometimes fire up her GC to play old Zelda or Armymen Series of games XD!

You know, the Dreamcast is actually a pretty easy console to repair. It's very modular inside, and not that complicated either, so most pieces just snap in and out. My original stopped reading discs, so I got another one but just swapped parts so I could still use my original. Then the controller ports stopped working, so again I went back to the other one and swapped more parts. So my current Dreamcast is still in it's original 9/9/99 shell, but inside it's like a Frankenstein project. :D

If you ask me, there are a lot of reasons to still fire up a GC. The only problem is that if you don't already have some of those games, they can be expensive or at least some can. I never actually played PSO EP3. The whole card thing always turned me away from it, though I kind of wish I got it now just to at least try it.

This Dreamcast of mew's is Still going strong~! Like to fire up Starlancer every so often to have a little fun or Peek at some old PSO save files on the VMU =D! WE ALL Scoffed at PSO EP3 at first dear! 'Card based PSO'????? SRSLY??? Mew had picked it up off the shelf to examine the screenshots on the box and put it Back...Only to browse around the store with the colorful legit images in her head and return to pick it up off the shelf again. Hmmmmm...Even if mew doesn't go online with it....it might turn out to be a Collectors item someday, right? So it comes home with mew and she fires it up. Oooo...oooooh.....Ok....This might actually work....*Goes Online with it after playing a few hours.* A few loved ones were already online and waiting to slap mew around with their new online only cards...XD! But after winning her first 4 player tournament, mew was HOOKED! It was like YU-GI-OH! on crack! Defense cards, Monster cards, Weapons cards...Eeeeee!!! Not to mention the Online lobby was Gorgeous! Here on Ephinea it's lobby 13! <3! If you get a Chance, while playing EP2...Try the quest BlueStar Memories (Or something like that) ...Its a prelude to EP3~! But if you get the chance... BUY a copy of EP3 for your GC just to muck around with it~! You Won't regret it! That and you'll find out WHY you see a few players with the name of 'Silfer' or 'Break' or 'Orland'.....or.....you'll see~! lol <3!

The odd thing about PSO EP3 is the fact the card battles turned me off, but then I played a game called Baten Kaitos which (while not quite the same) also uses a card based battle system which I absolutely love. For all I know it might be the same for me with EP3 as it was with Metroid Prime too. I thought Metroid Prime was going to be terrible because of the first person view, then I played and was was like "woah, this is really good". So while a part of me might be like "ew they ruined Phantasy Star" because of the cards, maybe I will love it too. Thank you for telling me about the quest, and also the lobby I've made note of those for whenever I can find it in me to play again. Looks like I could get EP3 for about $30 US, and brand new so that's not bad.
