Your client is too old...

Good day everyone, I'm a long time fan of PSO and wanted to get back into it. Sadly I've been running into an issue where I'm able to install the client and launch from online.exe (following all of the compatibility mode/admin/AV/DEP recommendations from the guide) and get psobb.exe running at version 1.8.6, but during connection it states that the client I'm running is too old and takes me back to the menu.

Any additional troubleshooting steps anyone can recommend would be appreciated

The Ephinea launcher will download the latest client (1.9.3). So ensure you are using that. Else just download the complete client again as that *will* have the latest.
 
I'll give it another download and try another install (maybe on a fresh VM to ensure it's behaving correctly). I've been having fun on my own private server in the meantime thanks to sodaboy's and the other programmers efforts.
 
Feel free to close this thread, my firewall has some strict rules and disallowing outbound on TCP/9000 was blocking the Ephinea client update.
