PSO dsound.dll crash

My game have been crashing since some days now, even on a fresh windows install. Here's the logs I have from Windows's Event Viewer:

It seems like it's linked with dsound.dll.

Anyone have an idea about this issue ?

Edit: I'll precise that the crash happen when I stand around Spaceship. The game just crash randomly.

But doesn't crash in lobby/pioneer2 so far.

Try adding psobb.exe to the DEP exceptions.

Try adding psobb.exe to the DEP exceptions.

The DEP is on Windows-only software and services, it shouldn't cause issues with PSOBB. I remember using the other option that made the game crash even more (when firing handgun).

That (what @tofuman said) is actually what is suggested all around the forum (search "turn on dep for all programs").
Is worth a try, anyway.

I feels dumb now. It was actually the cause. But, I remember doing so before reinstalling Windows and it was still crashing... maybe something went wrong.

Game is running in Spaceship since 35+min without crashing.

Well, gonna say that too. I crashed 2 times again due to this dsound.dll today. With DEP deactivated.

But these 2 crashes seems more random than what I had before.

It may be worth updating your sound card drivers.

Just had the same issue, tried everything before i found out about this...
Here is how you can add online.exe to the DEP exceptions.

It sais XP in the link, but the screenshots show it on win10

For me that did not help.
Whenever i am in CCA it crashes with an dsound.dll error:

for me it strangely helped to disable the "focus sound" in the advanced pso options.
