Input lag

Hello
I am a returning player from the Dreamcast days, I have played Ephinea before but its going back maybe 4-5 years ago.

I am using a gioteck VX-2 controller and I am experiencing crazy input lag, sometimes 1-2 seconds making the game unplayable.

I am from the UK so thought it was server lag and I ignored it all day yesterday till I connected today on keyboard and there's nothing, clean, connected my controller and again 1-2 second input lag.

The thing I dont get is I used this controller the last time I played and it was fine

Any suggestions? Do I need a new controller, is there any you recommend?

Hello, this can be closed, I tried a different USB port which seems to have cleared up the issue, strange because the other port works completely fine for everything else.
