I keep getting disconnected after 3 mins of idling

As the title states, I keep getting disconnected after 3 mins of idling. This is happening to my partner too. This is extremely frustrating when trying to simply level up a mag and idle. I've also been kicked when I'm dead because I cannot get a res within 3 mins. Does anyone know how to extend or bypass this timeout? Thanks!

There's an option in the main menu while in game called Auto Disconnect with a few options that you can adjust, its also an option in the launcher too I believe but I dont know which page its on. There should be an option for never disconnect in the launcher. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response! :)

The Auto Disconnect setting in game makes no difference. The highest you can set it to is 60 minutes, but I still timeout after roughly 3 mins.

I could not find the setting in the launcher you described. Here are my launcher settings:

Thanks in advance for your help!

EDIT: I just noticed that the timeout is not occurring in the lobby.

Try leaving a youtube video or stream playing on mute in the background and see if it still happens. I haven't seen that be a problem in a long time but worth a shot. If it stops happening I'd contact your ISP for an explanation.

I'm having the same issue. I've got my auto disconnect set to the max, but it still disconnects me if I don't move after a few minutes. It gets annoying if I die and don't get ressed quickly.

We disabled the auto disconnect in the client a couple years ago, so changing that won't do anything because the game no longer tries to enforce it (and auto disconnect didn't really work anyway, because it was trivial to alt tab and the game would still think you're 'actively playing').

PSOBB uses TCP which is pretty rare for video games these days. So if you're playing on wifi, might be worth trying with a wired connection if possible.

If this happens commonly when you've been playing for a bit and then go idle, or if it happens after boss cutscenes when you're not the party leader, it's likely an issue with your modem/router. It could be the same issue here: https://www.pioneer2.net/community/threads/gol-dragon-freezing-resolved.24593/

It might be worth trying to tether with mobile data if you can. If that's good, then it's likely your modem/router.

@Ender Switching to a wired connection did not make a difference. However, when I switched to my mobile hotspot, the issue was resolved. Thanks!

For future players that may run into this issue, my ISP is Optimum and I used the default router they mailed me.
