I recently got hit by this piece of sh*t encrypting most of my on hand files and some very much needed thesis pieces. Basically wiped my stuff and I don't even know where I got it. People say it's from a malicious file and I searched everywhere, meaning it either got through bundled in something I dl'ed or something that was already in my pc waiting for the right moment.
Either way, I am here now, asking if anyone else has been affected, and if anyone has found a way to decrypt the files because frankly, my efforts are not doing much, aside from finding a lot of space in my pc after deleting a lot of junk files.
