Game doesn't launch (possibly after Windows Defender shenanigans)

I'm a new user here just trying to install the game, but during the installation I get "Trojan:Win32/Rundas!plock" in the ephinea dot dll file. Before AND after I remove what it claims is there with Windows Defender, I open the launcher, go to Start Game and...the window appears for about a quarter of a second and vanishes.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point (I messed with the Hi Res option and neither setting did anything), is there something else I'm missing?
 
add it to exclusion or just turn off defender!
 
I've already added an exclusion to the entire Ephinea folder after going through every possible option on the Readme (and after saving my butt with the dll file, I don't think turning off Defender would be smart for me).
 
Might have to reinstall the client. If something got blocked by your AV it can "corrupt" the game. Happened to me once before because an update was blocked when I opened the launcher.
 
I re-installed it, Defender didn't find anything this time so I figured it's fine now. But it still instantly closes after hitting Start Game. I honestly don't know what this thing is missing now.
