First off, my apologies if this has been answered somewhere else. I snooped the forums and the faq and haven't seen anyone mention the same problem i'm having.
Everything has gone well, until i log in and download the patch, after the download completes it says press enter and exits the game. I figure normally i should be able to just sign back in and start playing but every time i log back in it makes me redownload the patch and then exits the game. I'm running as administrator in compatibility mode for xp service pack 2 (on a windows 10 laptop) & i have tried disabling windows defender & the dep
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

ran online_compact, prompted me to change the settings to save id/password and next time i logged in it took me to character creation. Not sure if that was what caused the problem, but it appears to be solved.
