Deleting a character

Is there a way to delete a character without remaking one in the same slot?
I was testing out some things in character creator, making multiple character so I could see which one I like and choose just one to play, but now I have several slots filled and seemingly no way to delete them. Just kind of bothers me is all.

I admit this bothers me more than it should.
Is there a way to just do a clean wipe of everything then? Similar to deleting the data off of a memory card back in the gamecube days?

Do like the cool kids do and turn those occupied slots into Section ID slaves.
