Hi , I d/c every time i touch the counter to select any quest , this happened to me after the event finish , help me solve this problem :(
 
This will be my fault, what ship is it on
 
I’m starting to have this problem now, with EP1 and EP4


EDIT* Logged in this morning and only having this problem when i am not in solo mode.

recently started getting really bad d/c issues. usually happens whenever i join a game and try to pick up an item. anyone else experiencing connection issues?

Edit: it's the "no connection available check your cable blah blah" msg

Also adding that it's nothing on my end because my net connection is complete fine I can reconnect immediately afterwards

Edit: just had another one randomly mid quest. These used to be extremely rare occurrences.

In your case it might be potentially a windows or antivirus update thing that happened in the background if it was a sudden change that wasn't happening before. Make sure that all your folders and exe's are whitelisted in any security programs you might have left running like a main antivirus or windows, firewall, or smartscreen, and completely turn off windows defender if you have it.
 
hey thanks for replying. I double checked those settings hopefully it was just some spotty internet on my end (damn comcast)
 
problem is still there. Getting worse. D/Cs randomly in quest and when people join games it freezes. Nobody else getting problems like this? Please post any info here if anyone has encountered connection issues and the ways they solved.

I think I've read somewhere that sometimes it's helpful to leave something active in the background because pso requires so little bandwidth. Sounds silly to me but maybe it could work? I mean I used to play on a 24.4k connection as a kid so it shouldn't use much :cool:

Connection problems are really hard to diagnose. It could be any number of things, such as:

1. Spotty Wi-Fi, if you’re using that.
2. Terrible router
3. Bad network cables
4. Improper MTU setting
5. Switch or other router in-between you and the ship.
6. Network card drivers and/or settings (Jumbo Frames, improper offload settings, etc.)
7. Processes running on your computer

Not much I can recommend but to look at all of that and possibly running a tracert to your ship of preference and see if you have any dropped packets.

Also try playing on another ship and see how that works.

It's not the available bandwidth thats the issue in that case, its that it takes too little. ISP's see a connection taking so little from their service (in this case PSOBB i think uses barely 100KB/s or somethin? i dont remember but its small) and mark your internet as dormant, even tho you're using it then they d/c you. The point of what they said is mainly that if you have a video playing in the background, or a music streaming service using your internet you wont get marked as idle/dormant and wont get d/c.
 
hey all thanks for reply. I will try running something in the background to take up bandwidth.

router is brand new . other stuff I have not the slightest clue but i will give it a try

edit: idk if its really helping but having youtube open with music seems to reduce d/c, at least I played a few 20~min+ games tonight and didn't have any issues. I did however get strange instances of frozen screen when players would join. The host would stay connected but everyone else in the game including the person trying to join would get booted. related?

update: just having youtube open with videos loading seems to have fixed 90% of my d/c problems. go figure. I still have random issues occasionally, most of the time its either -- freeze when player joins (not a problem, as you can just remake the game), d/c during 4 way photon blast (this has happened multiple times, always during photon blast, I noticed myself and other players affected by the issue.)

Edit: someone just told me they get similar problems in ep4 while pb'ing due to bad frame rates causing desync. I noticed the last room in MAE suffers from this issue a lot. Could fluctuating framerates be causing desyncs and thus d/c?
