Can't type new character name.

Hello everyone, I just today created an account to relive my GC glory days, but I can't seem to actually type in a character name to finish the creation process in-game. How do I resolve this? I haven't found any answers in the FAQ or searching these forums. Is this a common issue? I'm on Windows 10 and the keyboard is working perfectly fine when navigating the menus and even when logging into my ephinea account when I launch the game. It just won't insert actual letters into the character name field specifically.
 
do I need to install the JP keyboard or will disabling IME on its own resolve this? I'll try it when I get home later, thanks for the reply guys!
 
I just checked the launcher at work and IME was already disabled. Will installing a JP keyboard solve this when I get home? I can't do that right now unfortunately.
 
If IME is disabled then it won't.
What language do you have for the keyboard, select US and see if it works.
