You should scour the SEGA (EDIT: blue burst) forum archives too - they're gold.

It's like the concept of "hacking" didn't exist there. So much so that they didn't even know how killcounters worked, even though that shit got figured out using gameshark in the GC days. "Why did I rafoie 20k enemies and not have my item unseal?" -> "The items drop with a random number of kills to unseal them."

HUcasts also turn often sneered at weapons into death dealing machines. A higher level HUcast with a good mechgun is something to be feared.

Eventually it all doesn't matter. The harder to find specials ARE better in most cases, but it won't be long at all before your atp reaches 999 and then all weapons are pretty much the same. The only reason past this point to have rares is for collecting them and just because they look cool and are fun to play with.

He's right. Your stats get capped at 999 in V1, so at that point it doesn't really matter what weapon you use, because with Shifta, it's easy to get maximum ATP.
