About posting trades

First of all, I apologize if the English is difficult to read because it is translated using a translation tool.
Also, if this post is inappropriate, please let me know and I will delete it.

I think many users here use Discord.
When posting trades to a channel on Discord, how often do you think it is appropriate to post?
(Posting twice a day is appropriate, posting freely is OK, etc.)

This topic is something I am personally concerned about, and I have no intention of making any requests to the management based on these results.
I also have no intention of saying anything to other users.

Opinions will probably change depending on the content of the trade post, but I would like you to give me your opinions without thinking too deeply about them and just use them as a reference.

The max slow mode for discord is 6 hours so that's what I would say. I also think having one of discords forum channels for trade lists and make the current trade channel for only a few items at a time would be a good idea.

オークションの告知は別に項目作るのはいいと思います。

I think it would be a good idea to create a separate section for auction announcements.

I think posting only once a day is the most respectful. Sometimes it is okay to post in the morning and evening (12 hours apart approximately). If the chat is busy, like during an event, it might be okay to post 3-4 times in a day, but only if the posts are separated by a few hours at least, and if there have been a lot of posts from other people inbetween reposting your list.

Getting rid of reactions and limiting the number of lines usable in trade chat posts are good things that have helped with some of the clutter. Some people still seem to post more than necessary. It would be nice if long discussions about the value of items could take place in another channel. Arguments shouldn't happen in the trade channel. DMing to create rooms for trading also helps to limit clutter, but some people might not get a notification. I don't think there is a perfect solution.

Personally, I have not used the trading channel much recently because I just want to play the game and find items. Worrying about what sales I am missing is not fun for me. So, feel free to dismiss my opinion if you don't think I am well informed.

I'm all down for slow mode. I think the reason why it hasn't been introduced yet is because many people still discuss how to meet up in the trading channel. There should be a pinned message explaining how to enable direct messages in Discord so that these kinds of discussions take place there. Maybe even some kind of tutorial window for new players who join the server and click on the trading channel? Not sure if that's possible whithin Discord's server settings.

Discord is one of the moar reliable platforms for 'notifications'....that annoying "BLIP". But, it's easy to miss if you're BUSY or even away from your KB for just a moment. Sadly, no...there are no 'simple' solutions...other than fervent diligence on checking over and over.... And pretty sure the server gods would appreciate less 'clutter' here on the forums, too. =P

Actually, we prefer forum use over Discord, but c'est la vie.
*Blushes!* Well, guess mew being "pretty sure" wasn't SURE about SHYT!!! lol!!! Sorry! But yes, forums would make trade inquiries slower paced and easier to monitor and protect those involved~! Apologizes! nya~! =3

Thank you for all your opinions.
Although the order has been reversed, I would like to explain why I created this thread.

The Ephinea server is very active in trading, which I think is a great thing.
However, I often hear that the "トレード" channel, which is used by many Japanese users, has recently had rules added to it, making it difficult to use.
(I'll leave out the details, but I feel strongly that this is something that users should have been aware of/solved before the rules were added)
I've also seen similar problems occurring in the "trading" channel.

I'm sure there's already been discussion on Discord about this, but I created this thread because I wanted to find out more.
Because Discord posts disappear quickly...
*I understand that forums are useful, and I often use them myself.
However, I think Discord is indispensable as a communication tool, including for trading.

At the very least,
I will definitely take a look at the comments posted here and at the very least share the information in this thread with my friends.

If you have any comments, please continue to let us know.
I would also be very grateful if this thread would pique the interest of users who have not paid much attention to trading until now.

Discord

Despite the react trolling I do think we should still be allowed to post screenshots for ease of listing long lists. Limit to 1 screenshot per post and nothing that breaks the rules or is an obvious troll/bait I think would be cool.
I think its a lot better than the 12 line limit for trade list posts which I have seen get broken very often, the auto-moderating for the rule is very inconsistent.

Emotes were such a awful thing in Trade Chat they were severely abused and just meant to hurt others. I am so glad they are gone. I have talked to several people about it. I have never run into anyone in game that liked the Emotes. I have heard many times the opposite that people were afraid to post in trade chat because of the bullying that goes on there.

Ideally post the tradelist 1 time a week like in Japanese Trade chat and have slow Mode enabled and enforce message deletion that is not by people posting their buying or selling list.

There is so much needless comments in #trade , people post gifs, people type out 1 word responses for 20-30 replies which buries others tradelists. And it's just a perpetual cycle of having to repost your own listing because you know if you don't you will not have vision into your goods. I feel the people who post Gifs and hold multiple page long off topic personal conversations should have their ability to post there be restricted. It's beyond rude.

I like the way Japanese Trade is managed it is very respectful

Having a 1 Day + slowmo in trade chat where you are restricted from posting for at least 24 hours but could edit your 10 line trade list would be an absolute dream.

Or maybe a section called #tradelist where you can post your listing 1 time a week.

Then you can still have the normal trade chat for where you can arrange to buy and sell individual things. That way the new people just trying to get h/battles , c arms / vulcans / starter stuff can do so without competing with paragraphs of text pasted every few hours by everyone

At this point though I treat #trade like a war zone and I am a battle hardened veteran.
So, I kinda have to disagree completely on some of these things.
Im an avid trader in the trade channel myself I lurk around all the time and I never really saw people being abused by reacts. The vast majority of the reacts I saw were of people that were legitimately uppercutting prices and they often got the "stocks" emote from people indicating the feelings towards those prices. I'm sure some one probably got a couple of unwarranted emotes, sure, but I'd hardly say that anybody got bullied. I cant speak for all time Trade channel since I have only been here probably a year consecutively, but during my time, I've never seen it.

A slow mode would almost certainly completely defeat the purpose of the trade channel. You yourself are a proponent of posting your trade lists (which also, by the way, have consistently broken the 12 line rule multiple times) multiple times a day. This isn't a callout persay, but I do find it interesting that you actively promote the poor behaviors on a regular basis that you're complaining about here.
The trade channel is meant for those smaller posts where people go back and forth about trades for a while. If you want to post a big long list of things, that's what the forums are for.

My advice for the staff is to create a "threads" section of the trade channel. Leave the current trade channel as is but then simultaneously create the threads section; in this section you could post your long trade thread links or even just post the entire trade list there. It would be separate from everything else and if people wanted to, they could go out of their way to visit your trade list via this channel on discord. It would solve your primary complaints with your rule set, but it also wouldn't punish smaller trades for the regular trades channel.

Its only a war zone if you treat it like you're battling people for sales rather than persuading people to trade.

I am not here to argue with you but you know you can't post more than once a week on the JP trade section.
