    Rare Findings and/or Accomplishment Thread

I went to bed super early and woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn't sleep so I ran two PODs. This dropped on the 2nd run. Yay! Tekked to 35h 20d :3 Back to bed! :D

Why is every event about just maxing kills on ultimate?

It depends on where you are on gear progression. I already have a high hit Frozen Shooter and Snow Queen. And I already have a Heaven Punisher with Divine Filter. So there aren't any essentials for me to hunt in Forest. I COULD still spam Forest to find FS / HP / Badges / PDs to increase my...

Why is every event about just maxing kills on ultimate?

I would assume it's because so little of the 1 to 200 journey happens in N-VH that really devoting any thought to it at all is probably considered to be not worth the time. But I can't say for sure.

Why is every event about just maxing kills on ultimate?

98.5% of the experience needed to reach Lv. 200 is on Ultimate. You are literally 1.5% of the way to 200, EXP-wise, when you reach Lv. 80. Forcing people to reach Ultimate for the best rewards is not exclusionary or gatekeeping. It only takes a modest time investment to reach Ultimate for the...

    TP Material Club

I think this thread is going to be a serious challenger for dethroning the Baranz Launcher MEGATHREAD as the greatest thread in the history of the forums. It is truly an amazing time to be alive.

This is a spot-on parody of the Schtserv item verification process from back in the day, if I recall. Well played, sir :3

    Ephinea Christmas 2025 Event Thread

This thread can probably be un-sticked at this point since the next "big" event is happening.

Sekiro and the industry's [fairly] recent obsession with extremely hard games.

No. There are documented cases of the USA version of home console games being significantly harder. Castlevania 3 for NES is one of the most egregious examples. I thought this was commonly known.

I appreciate the thoughtful perspective. The sincerity of the response shows me that people really do enjoy the difficulty. I have the skill; if only the enjoyment would naturally follow. Maybe flashes of it happened here and there and I need to be more mindful about collecting and retaining...

True. The Souls games have rather annoyingly built in plot conveniences for why you can try infinite times. But the bosses don’t learn or get any better, so it just seems fake to me. Your positive attitude is contagious, I must admit. It helped a little :3

Also TY for being positive and kind. I know my perspective on this is not normal.

I don't mind the stamina system. I just don't understand the appeal of chipping away at a boss and winning on the 100th attempt. If you think about it from a narrative perspective: You died on your first attempt. So you're dead. The bad guys won. Everything that happened after that is phony and...

Sekiro and the industry's [fairly] recent obsession with extremely hard games.

-_-; It was fun to read though :3 I'm not jealous of the ability, since I have it. I guess I am "jealous" that people find this sort of difficulty enjoyable, and I don't. So now I wonder if anyone actually enjoys it. Your metaphor is silly because I CAN jump the rope. (I just hate it.)...

I agree with this, and my apologies. I shouldn’t call those things “cheese.” But I felt the need to specify that I did not use those mechanics to preemptively diffuse the “Oh, you didn’t actually beat the game then” comments that I envisioned were incoming. My mistake. And I mean that.

Yes, for many years! And they’re great. This was more or less an introspective experiment.

Sekiro and the industry's [fairly] recent obsession with extremely hard games.

This is a historically inaccurate and overly-romanticized account of how game difficulty came to be. The reason games were hard back in the day, and the reason so many U.S versions of games were much harder than their Japanese counterparts (ie. Bayou Billy, Castlevania 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, etc.)...

    Rare Findings and/or Accomplishment Thread

I upgraded my ND Heaven Striker, so combined with my big CR I bought in October, I'm very happy with my RAcast's basic loadout. (I don't usually carry Zalure needle but had it on me for POD for the boss cave.)

I think picking it apart does matter because it signifies pushback from a paying customer that should be just as valuable as any other opinion. Way too many studios seem to think that everyone wants hard-as-balls games now because of how vocal the “git gud” community is. I set out to prove that...

Sekiro and the industry's [fairly] recent obsession with extremely hard games.

See? Don't say "it's not for me." That statement makes me angry. It's a nice way of saying, "You can't handle it." THAT is why I finished all the games, so people can't say things like that to me. I can authoritatively state I can handle these games. I beat the entire catalog while placing...
